First time EVER fishing Briery Creek Lake

- I have never fished Briery Creek Lake before this. I really like the lake, but it wasn't easy. I really feel like I could do better if I fish it more. There is a lot of lake I did not get to. A lot of the shallow areas surprised me! Deep water, shallow water and it seemed like there were at least 3 patterns that day. Crankbaits, spinnerbaits, topwater and texas rigged worms. All in all, very fun day!

This reminded me of a old school Bill Dance type video for sum reason... Nice one
LOL, I am going to refine this camera angle if I can. The back of my boat is usually not free for the camera tho.
I grew up a mile from Briery and fished it many times in my younger years. Now with so much broken off timber just under the surface that lake scares me. Ive had my boat hung up on top of stumps out there and sometimes didn't think I was going to get off. Otherwise I love the lake.
Great video--Thanks for sharing you wonderful experience. Hope your dad enjoyed eating your fish. Great fishing to you.
One of my bucket list places. May try to get down there with my kayak in the spring
good luck! Be careful about getting the kayak stuck on the treetops.
Hopefully ill be going today. Great content. I appreciate you making content for our area.
man, thanks!
I’m a life long Va resident I’m 46 i can remember 25 years ago when they were catching a lot of 10 -16 pounders out of there there’s a local legend Johny Hanson that was slaying giants there he supplied a taxidermist with a bunch of 10 plus pounders for the molds for the mounts cause those size bass were unheard of at the time I haven’t been in years but a lot of the timber looks like it has fallen under the water of all the lakes in Va it’s one of the prettiest with all the hydrilla grass and the legend johny would troll deep diving crank baits through all that timber to catch those monsters
You are right about the timber dissappearing... but i wouldn't troll a crankbait there there today! That is mind blowing! I wonder how he even found a lane that he could drive the boat and not hit trees with the boat let alone the crank!!!
That’s a great place.
I def want to go again.
First time watching your video. Really enjoyed it. Looks like you had a pretty nice day on the water. Been wanting to come to this place for a while. Hope to get out there in the next few weeks.
Is it trolling motor only?
Thanks for watching!
I can't see which video you commented on. Prob is electric only
I have been looking at fishing there for some time now. Great video!
You should!
I'm heading down there this weekend on a kayak.. camping a night or two. Any advice?
Nice video sir. Tough to lose a big fish. We’ve all been there. Keep moving forward like you do.
"Never Give Up" , "Adversity is Dope" "I got the bite, doing something right" Thanks for sharing this experience with me!
Nice fish there. So nice of you taking your dad a surprise. Is that the Jon boat you built your fishing in?
Yes it is! I have had it out a few times. I like it except that the forward battery position makes the front too heavy in my opinion.
