You’re literally the first critic I’ve watched to bring up the spoiler trailer! I felt exactly the same when it started just thinking, “this could’ve been more enticing if I didn’t know what Abigail really is.” They spoiled the hell out of this but I still liked it so much. Love watching your reviews!

I liked this movie. A bit like ready or not (which I loved) Barrera is great, Steven’s is so good and the little girl is fantastic. It’s not without its flaws but it’s a solid, not long enjoyable movie.
Abigail is definitely one of the most entertaining and hilarious movies of the year so far. That last act was a bit cliche though.
Regardless... I had so much fun watching this crazy vampire movie.

I'm a vampire movie lover and this movie checked all my boxes! This was a really, really good movie . Alisha Weir was amazing as Abigail..Horror comedy done correctly
This movie was so BLOODY FUN! The actress of Abigail was insanely good and the movie was so funny. I has an absolute blast with it and cannot wait to watch it again. Going to be apart of my halloween viewing for years to come for sure.

When Abigail turned the look on her face was priceless.
I was jealous that I already know it was coming. Still a fun movie.
Trailers use to be an artform. Now it turned into just something they need to do in order to tick a box to say they did it.
I was also thinking it could have been right up there with ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’ if the marketing was handled better. I get that they want to put all the best moments from the movie in the trailer to put people in seats but I think we’ve proved by now that extremely vague trailers do just as well with that and make the movie more enjoyable.
Saw it last night and it definitely has that Radio Silence horror stamp all over it! Fun time for sure 🤟🤟
i have stopped watching trailers completely, but i still couldn't avoid the fact that they said this was a vampire movie. i want to go into most movies not knowing anything. it's hard to avoid things like that nowadays, but by god i am trying haha. i became a fan of Dan Stevens because of the 'Legion' tv show which never gets talked about enough.
Abigail was a great addition to the vampire genre!

This movie easily went up to my top 10 favorite Vampire movies. Right up there with Underworld, Fright Night, and Blade. And RIP Angus Cloud
I hope there's a sequel. I really liked how Abigail and Joey bonded at the end and I was hoping Joey had been fully turned when the guy exploded. I'd like to see where they can take these characters and this relationship, and I'd like to see another installment from this story.

When I was at this movie they showed a trailer of a new bluff house movie called speak no evil. I have no faith in this company when it comes to horror films and this looks no better.
Loved me some Dan Stevens in this. 👌🏽 The first hour I was thinking it was a disappointment because it just felt drawn out. Then - the last 45 minutes was total horror fun. ❤ I loved the synchronized dance (you know which part I’m talking about). Kathryn Newton is a gem. 💎
When it streams, I’ll skip to the last 45 minutes for sure.

I kind of enjoyed the sillyness of the movie. Aside from Renfield we havent really got these kijd of vampire movies. That would be cool if Abigail is in the world of Ready or Not!
Saw it last night. It was good. It did interesting things with the vampire lore but it was very predictable. Dan Steven’s was the standout for me. Him as a vampire was awesome.
Thought it was good but I liked both fright nights better, and dusk till dawn is one of the best.
I can’t wait to watch this movie I’m so happy for Melissa Barrera and I love the rest of the cast as well especially Kevin Durand he’s seriously one of the most underrated actors and Dan Steven’s as well.

Solid movie, lots of fun. But damn I wish they hadn’t shown so much in the trailers. There was no avoiding the marketing for this one and that was a little disappointing
"Love the hell outta what they did with the Scream franchise" well.....ew not so much. Ready or Not was top notch and Abigail looks good if the trailer didn't give everything away. Damn why do they do that?
This is the point I'm making though. The issues people have with the new scream movies (which both have positive critics AND audience scores across the board) is that they were judged with a magnifying glass most movies aren't judged with. This movie had the same types of issues but they really aren't big deals.
@@WeWatchedAMovie The over the top killer reveals that keep trying to ape the original has gotten really, really stale while at the same time totally out of left field. Just when you think a new creative team will do something new they....just do the same thing, only worse. And my god...the plot armor. I can't get past how many time the "core four" and Gail Weathers have died. I think they actually have Jason beat. I just expected better out of Radio Silence since Ready or Not was so damn good. And yeah I have to throw this in there, Samantha tasering that frat boys balls should have landed her a felony charge.
The thing with Radio Silence is they always mess up the ending. The last time I didn't have sour taste (of wasted potential) in my mouth after watching their film was with Ready or Not. *SMALL SPOILER ALERT* The "girl power" endings in Scream 5 & 6 at least made little sense but in Abigail, no way. They completely twisted the characters. Why would Dan Stevens act that way? I'm pretty sure I am a minority here but I believe they should try new writers because as directors they have a lof of potential. Also the f*ing one-liners by Dan Stevens, why so many? Someone tried to emulate Shane Black.
I think I`ll watch it tomorrow or Sunday.

Kind of like what they did to the "Trap" trailer! Now we know who the killer is. Movies nowadays would be wayyyy better if they do not show the twist in the trailers

Although not Universal, when Sixth Sense came out the advertising spoiled the twist for me. The film does't reveal what the title refers to. until the half-way point but it was all over the advertising. Therefore right after that opening scene I was like “Oh he's dead then“. You would imagine people would learn from shit like that.

Danzig Blood and Tears. Great song for that great sequence of the movie.
I felt the same with late night with the devil if it were 2 hours long it would have been amazing, just everything's seems so rushed that all the best bits are in the trailers now

I enjoyed the movie a lot Mike!! I remember only seeing the Abigail trailer once like months ago but I do remember when I first saw it I immediately said I basically just watched the entire movie.
It would have been awesome if they would have saved the vampire reveal. And Dan Stevens!!!! That's all I need to say. Love him!!!!
I did read an interview the other day with Radio Silence. They said that everything we saw in the movie regarding Angus Cloud's character was what he filmed. They didn't do any CGI or anything like that.
I always come to the boys before i go see a new horror movie....only people on YT whos opinions i actually care about

Radio Silence seems to really keep improving with their movies. It was an energetic clever twist to the expected vampire tale. Love Abigail!

Couldn’t agree with you more Mike. I have been avoiding trailers over the past year or so and it has made my movie theatre experience a lot better.
I know you and Jay have to watch trailers for your content but it does make it more interesting walking in blind.

This was a solid movie. Finally got a chance to watch this movie this afternoon. Having Melissa B and Kathryn N to look at doesn’t hurt either.
I seriously hope this movie is a lot better than the silly commercials.
It's super silly as a movie, it doesn't take itself serious so if that's what you're looking for it will probably be disappointing

I wish so much I hadn't known about this being a vampire ballerina movie! But it was just too hard not to hear about it somewhere.
Knowing radio silence was doing a monster movie, seeing the picture of Abigail, and because I watch movie youtuber channels. It definitely got brought up multiple times by various people. It would've been awesome to really experience Abigail as a kidnapped scared little girl though.
But as soon as shit starts going down it made the scenes not tense since I already knew who was doing it. Similar to when they go to check on her since I already knew and was waiting for her to turn.
I am anticipating whatever other projects radio silence does though and hope Melissa does more horror and team ups with them again. It would be awesome if they did another horror movie with Melissa and Samara together in it!

Wanted to love or at least like it, but the most positive thing I can say is that it was “fine”. 2.5/5 not something I’ll likely rewatch anytime soon.
Just left the theatre and absolutely loved it! I gave it a 9.5/10 on my own podcast.

I thought the ending of Abigail was dead in the water, to make matters worse, the makers tried to hype the ending making the ending out to be up there with ending of Ready Or Not & ended up a shitfest I thought anyway.

I ACTIVELY avoided the trailer as much as I could but every movie I saw at the theater recently showed this trailer as a preview and even with trying to look away and close my ears there was pretty much no way to avoid realizing that Abigail is a vampire with the trailer and online discourse.

I saw this twice because I enjoyed so much the first time. On the second I did see all the cons you mentioned and I also think they mis cast the guy that plays the muscle guy. I thought his acting sounded like he was reading from a cue card and that is not even close to a Quebec accent and he was a bit to effeminate for me. The rest of the cast was great especially all the female actresses.

Just like Scream VI, I expected a lot more but ended up disappointed mainly because of the rushed and underwhelming third act. However, I wasn’t as bothered by Abigail’s 3rd act since characters actually die and the performances by a certain character wasn’t over the top cartoonish. I give it a 3.5/5. I thought Renfield did the vampire horror comedy much better

I really tried with this one but it didn’t work for me. There’s a lot to like about it with the carnage candy and decent lines every once in a while with talented people on and off camera, but it was just okay for me.
Ready or Not is great, Sream 5&6 are trash, very disappointed by the series, but this movie does look like fun

Maybe its because im one of those people who could care less about spoilers and really kind of actively can't stand people who cry about spoilers for things that have say been out for 6 months or more, personally its not that daunting to take face out of screen and stay off the internet when it comes to avoiding them. Alot of things specifically on the internet have titles that require being clicke..
But studios don't care, they're generally trying to make a trailer that might pull the interest of everyone and anyone who might see something and say "ooh I have to go see that". They don't care about the horror fans, comic fans, sci-fi fans etc. they care about a general audience who usually could careless about spoilers
This is a moot point when so many other companies do trailers that don't spoil a thing and are just as succesful.
I think renfield was wayyyy better, funnier and just bloodier than this film

I just finished watching Abigail and holy shit this movie was awesome like I'm strongly considering wanting to watch it again very soon, this might be my favorite movie of the year so far also for me this is probably my favorite movie by Radio Silence and second is Ready or Not then Scream 6 then lastly Scream 5 but really all of Radio Silence's movies are amazing 🧛🦇🩸, my main complaint is that there wasn't enough Vampire world building I love vampires and learning lore about vampires and the movie didn't give me enough in my opinion I wanted morr worldbuilding 😂
Glad I didn't watch a trailer going into this one. I never do watch trailers, because I know they'll spoil the fuck outta it for me. Trailers are like 15 minutes these days. This was a banging ass vamp movie
