The phone card actually makes sense. International phone plans usually cost extra (and can be expensive), and it wouldn't make sense for Nancy to set up an international phone plan if she's just planning on visiting for a wedding.
You forgot to mention the dialogue choice on Kyler that freezes the game if you mention that there's a woman at the swamp. The bug was never fixed and if you save on that scene you have to either reload from a second chance or start the game over again
So true! It's the same in Phantom of Venice, if she plays another game of Scopa outside of the required ones and wins, the game freezes. I don't know if that was ever fixed or not.
Interacting with the printing machine before anyone tells you about it makes Nancy say, "I shouldn't go messing with this without permission", yet she messes with practically *_everything else_* she touches!
Am I the only one who found the puzzles in this game so hard as to be unenjoyable?? Okay, the dollhouse game isn't too bad, and finding the flowers is kind of fun. The music and graphics in the game are great, but the frustration at things like the bog puzzle, runes puzzle and rocket puzzle override the pleasure, for me. In fact, I never even got past that puzzle--I got blown up so many times that I just ended up watching the endings of other people's games.
Not really. Coming from someone with extremely toxic, neglectful, and often times down right abusive "parents," who've caused me to have many issues, including severe depression and anxiety (as well as being afraid of everything and being unable to handle any kind of stress or criticism because it will cause me to break down), having your "parents" raise you isn't always a good thing.
Never said that having your parents raise you is always a good thing? 6 years later and still definitely think that a young girl being raised by a random hermit who kept her completely isolated from the world is disturbing. But if you disagree that's fine lol
The weirdest thing about this game is this: does no one find it weird that a little girl was stuck by herself in that broken down castle and the tiny cabin and lived on her own? All I kept thinking is "poor kid!" :(
She's also not even really the culprit either. Matt literally just fell down a hole in the secret passageway and she gives him food. She probably also couldn't tell the others where he was because it doesn't even seem like she can talk.
Minkie McNab, might be a codename between them. But still think the one problem not mentioned is the fact that Nancy Drew is talking on the cellphone while driving.
Actually number 84 is not really something wrong. Most abandoned places are not that dusty when you go in them. Dust usually appears more often in places with heavy traffic flow. This is due to skin cells, which make up a large amount of what dust is. Now I do see an issue with it not having some wear and tear, as those blankets on the bed would be have decayed a long time ago, along with the rugs. It kind of matters one how long the window has stayed open.
I haven't had a video make me laugh this much in ages! It's great because you love the games, but aren't afraid to point out their flaws or poke fun at their logic. But dat 100 sin chemical puzzle though XD
You did a phenomenal job on this, and this was legitimately hilarious to watch! I'm showing it to everyone I know who plays these games. I really hope you make more sometime! :)
"I'm pretty sure crows don't get that close to humans in real life." OBJECTION!! I was eating lunch with my family at a park and a crow jumped up on the opposite side of the seat where my sister was sitting then jumped behind her and flew at me (I was on the table). It then jumped up right next to me. I squealed like a little girl XD
I feel like in the newer games they just try to rush through them. Where are the old games like, Blackmoor or final scene? Those games had so much detail and character development. It seems like the newer games are just about doing chores for people who can't be bothered to do them themselves. Midnight in Salam better be one hell of a game...
The sheep sin never made sense. I mean, if Donal was still at the castle, then he probably used the lantern from Kyler's room in order to hoard that one sheep back into the sheep area before locking it.
@@AngeldustPictures57 I know that this is just A Game but Fiona is really scary looking but that is probably because of how out of control Her Hair is and how old She is but The Game doesn't Say how old She is as An adult
I hope you do the whole series! I've played these games since they came out, and I'm slightly embarrassed to admit I learned new things about the game from these sins videos. I had no idea the paint scraper could be used in place of the screwdriver!
*In Irish accent* Ah, yes, my first introduction to the Great Nancy Drew, both games and books. AND, the longest and hardest game I’ve ever played...It took me four years to finish it.
This game introduced me to Nancy Drew :) for that reason it will always be at the top of my list (the chemical puzzle should be at least 5 sins however)
There actually is a cot in the library/study where Kyler sits, but you have to approach it while going away from the desk and pause. It’s to next to the door. If I remember right, you can also see Nancy’s suitcase, and I was bummed that I couldn’t open it.
Actually, unless you count the "hands are invisible" thing as one, number 7 doesn't count. If you do a one handed thing, like knocking on the door, you use your dominant hand. If you do two things at once, each requiring use of one hand, the dominant hand is saved for the task that requires most control - out of holding a phone and steering a car, the dominant hand is going to get the steering job. So it makes perfect sense that she'd hold her phone with her left hand and knock on the door with her right - she uses her dominant hand (the right hand) to knock on the door, and then when using her phone whilst driving she's saving her dominant hand (right) to steer. So that's one point off the tally - but you need to add one back on, for the whole "DRIVING WHILST USING A MOBILE PHONE IS ILLEGAL NANCY"
Fantastic. When you put it the way you did in your video, it almost seems like a rushed game... And we do need one of these for every game. Especially Kapu Cave. 31 more to go, Michael.
This reminds me of CinemaSins' "Everything Wrong with" videos and other parodies of him that I've seen on UA-cam. By the way, +arglefumph, were you inspired by CinemaSins too to make this video?
Here's another one: According to the wedding program (2:41), both of Kyler's parents AND both of Matt's parents are dead. Seems kind of sus, considering that Matt and Kyler don't seem to be that old.
It's weird that a Banshee would attack Nancy, they are only known to make a cat's wail if a family member has died as in common Irish folklore. Many people have heard it before, so I don't know.
Actually, it was not impossible for the sheep to be there. The sheep could have gone around the wall and near the river? Also there were other cots. The ones near Kit. Nancy could have slept there if she was not solving the mystery. Everything else I agree with. I love these videos!
okay to be fair we never did see Lori get arrested, Jane likely got grounded, so obviously months have passed so.... besides I kind of doubt Lori would remember Nancy anyway (Charleena didn't remember Nancy either)
The mystery of this game literally is "Matt fell down a hole and got lost."
You forgot "Matt never takes his glasses off" and we never see him with them on, not in the wedding photo or at the end for the wedding.
9:33. That chemicals puzzle definitely deserves 100 sins.

"Kyler has memorised a 15 digit phone number"
And expects NANCY to memorise it immediately after hearing it just once!

So even though you might have the correct solution, it’s possible you don’t have the correct correct solution

I'd consider that Nancy's sin rather than the game's sin.
“I don’t know, because her hands are invisible!” That made me lol 😂
Now we need one of these for all the Nancy Drew games!!
+terrfomp92 There's already one for Trail of the Twister.
Yes!!! Nancy Drew cinemasins! This makes me so happy!

Oh yes the chemicals puzzle is the worst!!!! totally agree with making that 100 points against the game. :P
To be fair; the only reason she had a touchscreen GPS was that the Italian FBI gave it to her.

I always thought Kyler's nose was unusually red. Sinus problem? Drinking problem?
Maybe discoloration. My skin is like that, but I wear foundation to correct it.
Drinking problem, no question. Too much fruit juice at the Banshee.

As far as finding the flowers go, there is a book in the hut next to the herbs that provide hints as to the locations of all the flowers.
