Many ornamental flowers and cut flowers are TOXIC. ALWAYS do your own research and take responsibility for the plants that you introduce around your kids, pets, and everyone else. Use common sense when handling plant materials: wear gloves, always wash hands, avoid contact with face, etc. NEVER consume any plant which has not been positively identified with complete certainty to be safe and edible. Before planting anything, research to determine whether specific flowers are considered invasive where you live or if there are laws that apply to their planting in your area.

I couldn't find seeds, so what did I do?
Buy camomile tea to drink, take a fresh(unused) tea bag, sprinkle the contents in potting soil, water, cover for up to 7ish days. Check it out- I got a full 4"pot of sprouts! One box of camomile tea can go a looong way!

I'm in the south and haven't had much luck with spring sowing. I think it gets too hot too fast. I'm glad that you shared about fall sowing. I think that would work better for here. Thanks!

I'm growing common chamomile in some pots. It's been 4 weeks. There's no problem so far, they've grown around 4-5 cm. Do you think it will grow well in a tropical country? I'm from Indonesia btw.

I have some growing in the shade in a pot with another plant and some growing in direct sun in their own pots. I water both thoroughly every day but the ones out in the sun are turning a reddish brown.
Is this a sign of too much watering or too much sun? I can't seem to find the balance. :(

yeah.... too much watter, chamomille doesnt need to much water but need a lot of sunlight, 8 to 7 hrs at day.

Its just a cheap tiller/cultivator from Wal-Mart. Its not strong enough to create new beds, but is pretty easy to use in already established spots. 🌱🌱🌱

It’s so funny I don’t get great success with direct sow! I take a yogurt cup and I cut it down to a few inches tall and I fill it with potting soil and then I just sprinkle the chamomile in, then when I see some germination and they get I don’t know, maybe 2 to 3 inches tall, I separate them out and just plug them into the ground, and that’s the only way I’ve been able to get my chamomile to grow in my zone six New York climate. We have pretty gnarly clay salt soil over here, and even with amending it and working on it over the last two years I still have a hard time with a teeny tiny seeds and sowing chamomile directly hopefully in the future I’ll be able to just sprinkle those little suckers into the ground and get some good germination because I really want to start harvesting lots of chamomile and not just handfuls

Any idea how these guys do in a hot climate? I live in Palm Springs where we have very hot summers and in the 20 years I‘ve lived here have only had 3 or 4 freezes, and even then it barely reaches 32-normal winter lows are around 42 degrees, but only for a few weeks. Many flowers go dormant in the summer with highs around 110 degrees throughout the summer. Any chance I could get this to grow here? Thanks!
