The advertised 13-day battery life is totally not true. I've been using it for more than 3 weeks (with aod turned off) and the maximum batt life i got was a little more than 6 days. Other than that, the fit 3 is value for money.

Your video has almost convinced me to get this, to replace a generic one I have.
One other question... when it tracks sleep & you look at the details on the phone, can you see the exact time when you were in REM (ie: say 3:20a), rather than trying to guess via the graph? (Make sense?)

Got a amazfit X , but Fitbit still for the win ob design with the luxe and the 3??Fibband 3??the small one, the plastic Luxe.
But yeah seems like a good band, even the calculator on it 😮

Great review video! I bought a Fit 3 for my wife for our 5 year Anniversary and of course I had to try it out before I set it up for her and I compared it to my Galaxy Watch 5 and I like the Fit 3 more! Way more comfortable and the screen response is way faster!
I have Galaxy Watch 4 active and Huawei Watch Fit SE. I prefer the Huawei one. It just fits perfect. This looks similar.
@@JohnJohnson-jm8ku I do like the slight curve of the Fit SE. Wish Samsung would have put a slight curve to the design of the Fit 3.... I guess they did not want to copy it exactly. 🤭

Started Watching when you reviewed the OG Galaxy Fit. We have come a long way Shane.
I got the Fit 3 about a week ago. I have been a fitbit charge user for the last 10 years. I like the Samsung better and will be using that going forward. .
How's the step counter vs the fitbit? Is it accurate?
I have this! I got this 3 days ago. I like how it's super friendly for beginners like me who just want to have a light watch to track steps and go from there. It is not intimidating to use and super comfy in my hand that I dont notice it while sleeping (versus what I read online about the bigger smartwatches like GW6) for sleep tracking, which is a feature I thought I wouldn't use lol. I find that the tracking overall is pretty good for its price.
I recommend this for Samsung users (like me) who wants to start incorporating a fitness tracker in their early fitness journey but still want the sleek / lowkey look of a smartwatch. It's a gadget that I dont regret buying! So cutie and comfy! Love this!

@@mrpizza2641 Well, as long as it's part of your non-necessity budget, then it's such a great buy! My only issue with it now is that it doesnt last me as long as 13 days as Samsung claims which can be a little annoying if it happens to be low battery on a day I want to go out (I want to track my steps). Good thing is it charges so fast too so i just charge it an hour before I go out or the night before.
The next moderate issue is the step counter. I find it having sync issues. I go to sleep with a certain number during the day and then when I wake up, it resets to zero. I understand it will reset once the day ends, but i know that it shouldn't when I sleep in the morning. i dont fully understand the situation, but i dont regret buying this watch at all. I would have bought my bf the same!
Want to get it but have iPhone so can't connect 😢 will switch back to Samsung soon tho.
@mrpizza2641 hey! Idk where my reply went, if it was deleted. But I like it still but I have two issues:
1. Battery Life. I use the watch for sleep tracking, step tracking, heart rate tracking, alarm, and notification. I dont use the other workout tracking.i guess 3-5 days? I dont remember. It can get a little annoying if you have to go out, so i make sure to charge it when it's at 20%, the night before, or an 30mins before I go out. It charges pretty quickly so that makes up for the battery issue.
2. Step tracking. This is where I have a serious issue. There are days where I lose about 3k steps because the Health App didnt save the steps the watch detected on walks where i dont carry my phone. I feel like it's a sync issue 🤷♀️ . This is a big issue because i literally bought this watch for step counting (as mentioned in my original comment). Im not the only one experiencing this issue, there's a bunch of Reddit threads saying the same. I hope Samsung releases an update for this. Ive already reached out to Samsung and they can only offer to have my watch checked for a manufacturing issue which sadly I dont have the time for.
If I were given the chance to make a free return or refund, i still would keep this! However, i might choose to go for a different watch in the future, depending if I have the budget for it. But in the meantime, im still happy with my watch albeit the issues it has. I hope this helps!
@@christine_notchristina it's not a smart watch on that sense. u actually need to carry this along with your phone as it doesn't have gps and basically uses your phone for connectivity functions. it's a very very good accessory. not much of a standalone device. That is why it's much cheaper than your common fully blown smart watch. Not much of a downer when you think of it this thing still deserve much love for what it is.

came across this after trying to buy a new band for my galaxy fit 2, and i couldnt believe the new generation is actually here, just purchased just now. I feel like most modern smart watches do too much than u need to for a watch, just use your phone at that point. Also that the galaxy fit is what it should be in a watch without having to charge it everyday.

Thanks for the review! I have a Samsung Gear Fit 2, and after 6 years, the battery is beginning to fail, so I was looking for something similar/better. I haven't seen any reviews using the Samsung Gear Fit 2 as a reference, only in comparison to the Fit 2, and the Fit 2 is smaller than the Gear Fit 2. Based on what I see from your review, it still would be an upgrade from the Gear Fit 2.
Honestly, I wonder how much this will be improving than the second generation.

Mine is on the way, so I'm excited to check out these details. I'm still using my Watch 4, but I have noticed a degridation of battery time, perhaps just using more but getting 3-4 days of wattery from this will be nice.
Agreed. I am on my 4th day of my 2nd battery cycle (always on display OFF, everything else ON such as auto workout tracking), with 26% battery left. So I can confirm 3-4 days battery life with regular use

Is it good for steps count without having my smartphone with? Is it accurate to the numbers? What app you use in the smartphone to monitor your steps data from the smart fit3?
When you click on the gear/settings option next to running, can you setup an interval/target training?
Had the gear fit 2 pro...Got the Galaxy Fit 3.. 4 days ago, much alike, battery life much better on the Fit 3, I just wish you can get some sort of Screen protector that fits. These screens will scratch in a Jif. Any suggestions? where one might find some protective accessories?

I'll tell you, I clicked SO fast! Been debating if it is worth the upgrade for me from the Fit2 I'm still using as it costs 100 USD here in Brazil. I wish it had GPS like the Mi Band 8 Pro.
For the fit2, Gps would just kill the battery life, but u can use gps tracking when connected to phone.
A detailed video, loved it, kindly suggest to me between AMAZFIT BAND 7 AND SAMSUNG FIT 3, which one I should go for?
amazfit would definitely got more battery maybe 3 to 5 days more.
what is the difference between galaxy watch 6 or this fit 3?

I'm curious if you have tried out the Fitbit Charge 4,5,6 etc? The sleep tracker looks the same as the one on the Samsung but I'm wondering if you can see each time you were awake and for how long? That's what I loved about the Fitbit (Charge and Versa) before google changed the App. I'd appreciate if you could show us if this IS possible. Thx
does it have a jump rope counter? like not only the calories but also jump count?

I look for 3 things on a smartwatch (which this isn't, admittedly):
1. 10-14-day battery life
2. Extremely accurate sensors (I need it to track my steps, my heart rate and the quality of my sleep)
3. The form factor of a regular watch (round)
I don't use my smartwatch to answer phone calls or make payments and I don't use its GPS, even though I work out a lot. It seems to me that only Garmins fit my requirements above (particularly the more recent ones, like the Venu 3). The best sensors in smartwatches out there are found in Apple Watches, but those are only for people in the Apple ecosystem (not me) and they don't have a 10-14-day battery life. A second tier would be the Garmin watches, which is what I'm considering at the moment.
Garmin have some nice ones (Fenix series) but they are super pricey.

Walking tracking sucks in fit 3 I got one ...
Garmin forerunner 745 is the best! Fit3 does not give accurate pace if not connected with the mobile.

I have had the Fitbit Charge 3 for four days and have come to some conclusions. The battery life is about five days with the always-on display turned off and sleep tracking turned on. It functions similarly to the Samsung Watch 6. One thing that is not mentioned is that it automatically connects to whichever watch you are wearing and syncs to the Samsung Health app. So, using the Watch 6 when I work out and then the Charge 3 for sleeping is no problem. I find it faster than the Watch 6.

Been using a fit2 for years, battery life is 7 days with heavey use n u do get media controls. I am considering upgrading to the fit3 but i dont want less battery life. Pls charge it full n see how long it last with average usage

@@ShaneSymonds for the feedback, if you dont mind, please make a follow up video on the battery once it needs a recharge, i am just waiting on this feedback before i purchase one...my current fit2 battery last me 6/7 days, im hopeful that the fit3 can meet that.

I like mine. I've had it for 4 days now. But I'm using it with a pixel 6 and not all the features are available. Like I can't design more canned messages replies and there's no camera shutter button.Still, for what I wanted, it's great.

Would this be a good upgrade for my Samsung Galaxy Active 2? I've had it since it came out. But for some reason the LCD has a strange blue tent to the screen now.
First Galaxy watch has LED not LCD

And lastly if it still works fine and the battery isn't an issue then you'd be wasting money by getting an new watch.

Looks, nice. I like the light weight and long battery life. Can someone explain what accounts and apps you need to make it work on none Samsung Android phones? Is there any diff in features compared to when using it with a Samsung Android phone and other Android phones? How about using it with an iPhone? Is all the needed software available on iPhone as well? Does it work well?

@@elenac3700 thanks, yes I saw that later too. Pity, I know many iPhone users that would love a light economical fitness tracker with good battery life too. Maybe Samsung will make an iPhone app for it later. Seems like a missed opportunity to not do so.
Shane, here's what confuses me - the only version I've seen here in the states in the "international version". Is THAT the version intended for official U.S. release? It's clear this watch has been advertised and released in SE Asia, but it sure seems to me NEITHER of those things have happened in the U.S. I cannot find a single mention of this product on the Samsung website. It seems clear that this international version works fine in the U.S., which makes sense, but will there eventually be a "U.S. version"? Would there be any advantage in waiting for such a version?
P.S. I've been using the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro for several months now, which is a VERY similar watch. Physically, they're almost identical, and the features are mostly the same. Thing is, as a long time Samsung phone user, I'm pretty sure I'd like to add the Fit 3 to the ecosystem, for better overall compatibility.

Can you alternate watches on the same phone without deactivating the other watch? I thought you could only sync one watch at a time with Samsung Health. For example, could I wear my Watch 6 during the day and then use the Fit 3 for sleep and sync to the Health app without having to choose which watch to sync to the Health app?
it can be set on the watch to measure heart rate all the time or only after 10 minutes?
You can measure heart rate continuously, every 10 minutes, or set those off and measure manually from the tile interface I showed at 6:36

Yes, I just tested this and I am able to run 20 timers at once

How satisfied are you wih the Resting Heart Rate and Exercise Heart Rate Accuracy?

Yes I am working on that for the review. Initially I am uncertain about the sleep tracking, it says I only got 2 minutes of REM last night which does not seem accurate..
You're wrong about the water resistance rating. 50m and 5ATM is actually just a special watch water resistance rating, and those two just mean IP68.
I bought this band 2 weeks ago and I don't like that charging is very slow, it takes more than 2 hours to charge 70 percent.. is this normal? Thank you
Feel free to check out the charging test in this video (timestamps available) I charged this to 50%+ in 23 minutes

Almost IDENTICAL to the Xiaomi band 8 Pro.
I have Fit 3for two weeks now - battery with aod off does not last 4 days (I have all trackers set on automatic), the band does not work well with the app - it loses the steps (in my case I had over 1000 on band when going to app the steps reset to 100-200). The wake up by twisting the hand is mostly hit or miss I wait for Quantified Scientist to see how the pulse, sleep and other monitoring of the Band works. Overall, I am more than unhappy with this purchase, Xiaomi Band 8 is much better choice and has lower price.

Thanks for the video. Seems like a stripped down galaxy watch in terms of UI and functionality (nothing wrong with that). However a bit disappointed with battery life. Advertised 13 days to real life 2 to 3 days, esp for a supposed fitness tracker, which will get used for well fitness stuff.
This looks identical to huawei fit 2, down to the screen, the charger etc. I wonder if Samsung used huawei product and rebramded, and that's the reason they're not officially selling in US/UK due to he ban?

Huawei Fit 2 has GPS and Bluetooth calling speaker all missing from the Samsung!
It is a fitness band so obviously it will not have any calling option or payment option.

Disappointed with the battery life. Was hoping it could do at least 8 to 10 days under normal use. 4 to 6 days is just sad when they advertised 13 days.😅

why cant these just have the charger on the frickin side so you can charge while wearing them?? like who doesnt sit still for an hour or so every now and again?...
If Samsung really wanted, they could charge an extra $60 for this and add a few extra bells and whistles like GPS and NFC and a higher res, smaller bezel screen and other software smarts - but this would undoubtedly eat into their other smartwatches. Such a shame as I love the form factor.
