@@danthebrakeman Thanks. The A button wasn't working, I forgot to mention. The customer was going to take it to the dealer and he never got back to me on the resolution.
Some models have sensors in the brake pads that once worn will trip the message. Also some have automatic messages that pop up at certain mileage to get you into the dealer.
Great video, do you have to wind the shaft back in after the new pads are fitted or does it work it out itself ?
It will set into place once you push the e brake on after the repair is complete and pump the brakes
I replace the rear brakes like this, but the car now says "parking brakes temporarily unavailable" even though the parking brakes do work. Any ideas?

What throws the code in the first place? I stopped at our mailbox, backed up and the message came up. Rear brakes are getting worn.
