Battiato era un genio … avanti decenni rispetto alla musica del tempo… Alice una cantante senza tempo… ancora oggi concerti meravigliosi e voce cristallina. Raffinata, elegante, sensuale, mai volgare o sopra le righe. Poche come lei in Italia. Scelsero un look assolutamente fantastico… lui che doveva presentarsi con i suoi tipici occhiali da sole ma scelse quegli occhiali da ragioniere… lei senza un centimetro di pelle scoperta ma quei fantastici stivali neri di contrasto al cappotto ed i guanti in pizzo nero… Questa è classe autentica, eleganza e sensualità allo stato puro. Lei di una bellezza pazzesca. Ancora oggi una donna bellissima e una canzone senza tempo…. i cori o l ‘inizio se non ricordo male un’aria di Mozart … Vedere come sono ridotte oggi queste manifestazioni viene da piangere… non pensiate che gli italiani siano quelli che vedete lì…. l’eleganza per fortuna è rimasta nelle strade… anche se c’è tantissima sciatteria … ma resistiamo 😂!!
Alice est une chanteuse à nulle autre pareille, avec sa voix extraordinaire à plusieurs octaves, chantant tantôt grave puis très haut, d'une force lyrique et poétique évidente, d'un romantisme et d'une douceur prenante, d'une beauté et d'une sensualité exceptionnelle, parfois révoltée (Per Elisa), elle aurait mérité de gagner l'Eurovision en 1984 avec Franco Battiato, le duo étant pour moi le plus charismatique et intemporel que j'ai pu voir à l'Eurovision, la grande silhouette de Franco avec son manteau et ses grosses lunettes noires sur son visage émacié, se mariait à merveille avec la tenue extravagante d'Alice. Franco est parti hélas et j'en ai encore le coeur triste, et pour nos amis italiens. En France on a beaucoup aimé cette chanson italienne. Je connaissais Tozeur et sa jolie oasis pour y être passé en parcourant la région.

One of my all time fave ESC songs. Alice's warm voice is a great contrast to the cold synth drum beat, and the singer looks like she just walked in from the Dynasty set. The 3 opera divas at the end provide a nice surprising twist, a great touch that adds to the song's overall 80's synth pop/new wave vibe. One interesting trivia bit: Each diva is dressed with the colors of the Italian flag (green, white, red), but unfortunately on the night of the contest the red and green divas swapped places for some reason so they got the flag colors in the wrong order.
