Much love! xx, Lauren
thanks i will sign in today and learn a new song.
Thank you, very helpful.
I have a feeling that this channel will be a blessing in this venture to become a competent wielder of a violin.
Coming from guitar, bass & mandolin, I catch myself pressing too hard quite often.
Also, I've been squeezing enough to cause left thumb pain.
Thanks for the tips!
I love your channel!
Very helpful reminders. Thanks.
Thanks!
Thank you 🙏 🙏
Thank you! Numbers 1, 2 and three-color me guilty!
#1 I never had any trouble with, swinging the elbow over seemed natural right away. #2 I did press too hard at first but cured that fairly quickly but it took concentration. #3 was a surprise, never thought about it but checked just now and see that I'm okay. Good advice ! As an aside I'm beginning to learn vibrato and keeping the thumb under control is hard it wants to flop fore and aft along with the vibrato finger.....weird.
Great stuff. Mentally, my mind is on the right hand all the time. Coming from guitar, nothing about the left hand seems too unusual, bow hold and technique always block out any thought of how the left hand is working. Harder tunes you can hear it when I focus on one hand or the other too much. Practice has to be key to make that go away.
Guilty of all but squeezing (at least I do something right lol) !! I struggle with pressing too hard. I know I’m not supposed to. I think it’s because I’m focusing on concentrating too hard
thanks for the tips! how do you address a short finger length and reach to the notes
