I think my uncle’s liver is keeping him alive out of spite. He’s been a hard core drunk since 13. Black out drunk from February till September because that’s when duck season started. When he would go threw withdrawals I couldn’t see how he could stand it. He would just be shaking to the point I would have to fill up the gas can for him. He looks like he’s 80 now pretty sure he’s 60 at oldest.

I went to rehab at 18 for booze in 2020 two weeks before COVID shut everything down. I was drinking basically the same amount as Strain openly since I was 15, yet surprisingly remained fully functional. Then my GF preemptively killed herself due to incurable hereditary health issues, and I decided to go to rehab to basically take a medically monitored vacation, escape my world, and possibly quit booze for good as I was developing severe pancreatitis as I was very young. Due to my parents wealth and my resulting nepotism I was able to get a private room at the best “non 12 step” rehab in the state. Even while in quarantine I still had an amazing time getting to conquer my developing agoraphobia by hanging out with some of the funniest, story filled, and heartfelt people I’ve ever met. However, very quickly I noticed how utterly inefficient rehab is at treating addiction. Which is something I knew going in and spoke out against the business as an ineffective scam. When you step into the constant group therapy sessions every day it’s the equivalent of a special middle school class for violent/retarded kids. Myself and another young functional alcoholic, were baffled by the level of embarrassingly obvious psychological advise, interspersed between fucking ARTS AND CRAFTS. At first I thought that it must be effective for the more stereotypical addicts/criminals/dead beat parents/life long abusers etc, instead those people were all in rehab for their 7th time at least and nothing ever changed for them. There was middle class father of four who was addicted to crack and was the major participant during every therapy session after being their 9 times and swearing this would be his last. After doing his 30 days and leaving at 9:00 AM, being picked up by his wife and kids whom we all met, he was back at 3:30 PM to pick up some belongings he forgot and was CLEARLY already high on crack again. By the time I left I realized that Rehab really isn’t a solution and you can’t fix addiction the same way you can’t fix an amputated limb. I’ve since relapsed a couple times on booze and opioids (after getting morphine in the hospital 3 times) and was able to quit it myself, because it has to be done by you instead of a 30 day “how to be barley functional in society” 45k therapeutic robbery vacation. Obviously, I’m incredibly privileged due to nepotism and the financial security that comes with that in recovery, Though I’d do it all again just to have the invaluable experience, stories, and relationships before I inevitably succumb early to my genetically Irish organs finally giving up after a valiant fight.

Definitely underplaying Heroin it’s like been hugged by a 1000 angels. First time you take it you usually throw up but it’s not horrible to throw up and it actually feels good there’s no retching you just open your mouth and it flows out like a fountain. The whole idea with taking heroin is to go into a gouch which is a dream like state but even better. I can’t put into words just how pleasurable Heroin is up until you become addicted which doesn’t take long at all maybe 8 or 9 day’s of use and that’s when the vicious circle start’s. You go from taking it to get high to taking it to feel normal and stop been sick. As for been dope sick I can understand how some people can’t handle it and commit suicide. I went through 10 years of misery because I was petrified of that 10 days of Hell. I did 4 rehabs that didn’t work where I was detoxed without the misery of cold turkey but it’s still very uncomfortable. I ended up getting clean by myself because the rehabs never worked and I think the memory of going through that hell kept me clean that and moving to a different country. I’ve been clean since July 1999 and I my last drink of alcohol was New Year’s Eve of 1999 and now my drugs of choice are Cannabis and the occasional hallucigen which is either mushrooms or DMT and very occasionally 2-CB.

With heroin withdrawals you feel like shit, you may puke and probably will shit yourself but that’s about it, after a few days it’s usually gone to the point you can start eating again.
Alcohol withdrawal is really dangerous and shouldn’t be done without medical supervision because you can die.
So it doesn’t make any sense to me for him to claim, especially after saying he had seizures and hallucinations that the opiate users were somehow worse off.

Also, in another video he talks about how he hallucinated a man hanging in the corner of his room and shit like that, horrible hallucinations. Something that can happen with alcohol withdrawal and often benzodiazepines as well, but something I’ve never heard of in opiate withdrawal unless they’ve gone like 8 days without more than a few sips of water per day, but that has more to do with being on the verge of death from dehydration more than the brain being stressed from withdrawal.

I thought you said your withdraws only lasted seven days but why were your hands still shaking after 10 days you couldn’t even write your name you said?

You’re still addicted until you can drink on occasion and not go overboard.

That does not apply to everyone tho. Some people can't even have a drop, others can have a glass or two and be fine.

I'm so glad that I live in a civilized country that has free healthcare at point of service and nobody goes bankrupt through illness.
      Long live the great NHS.
