Great video.... I am 57 and just getting back into fitness....was pretty
hard core from ages 20 to 47...been out of it for 10 years..back issues
and joints here and there....so i was gonna order this FT1 but decided
to go with the INSPIRE M3 GYM with leg press attachment... and a SPIRIT
CU800 upright bike...interested in this bench too with preacher
attachment and maybe some power blocks.......if all goes well i will add
the FT1 or FT2... my plan is to get in as good of shape by age 60 as
possible....gives me 3 years....thx again for your videos.....gives me
hope and motivation.....cheers from Canada
I would appreciate more demo and info in position of the lower body as th is is more important in order to avoid injury. I was looking for info regarding posture etc to avoid back pain
I've been working out at gyms for almost 40 years, starting at the YMCA when I was 14. The gyms have closed so it was time to finally set up a home gym.
I research purchases obsessively, especially important purchases like this, and there was simply no beating a functional trainer as a piece of gym equipment. With this you can exercise every single body part.
I thought this is just the best trainer I could find.
The size not only provides a small footprint, it makes the machine highly versatile because the cables are well-positioned for everything, close enough to do curls, far enough to do flies.
6.5' x 6.5' is all that's needed for the machine and movements including with a bench.
I'm probably at the 50th percentile for strength at the gym, the normal stacks work for me, stronger men may want to get the additional weight stacks. The closest I get to the bottom is with lat pulldowns (I get to 90 out of 150).
I added Trak Handles which are pretty awesome.
I also added a Neck Flex attachment for the neck and some attachments for my feet (adding rings to the sides) to do leg kicks forward and backward and leg abduction and adduction (I can also do squats and using the bottom bar of the bench I can do calves -- put the bench bar sort of back and lean forward, you cannot fall forward as the weight pulls you back).
I got an adjustable bench with an ankle bar which is fantastic for doing abs using the rope.
Hi Paul, thank you for the in-depth review of the FT1 functional trainer. We appreciate the feedback. Stay inspired!
Thanks this is very useful
I have this functional trainer and love it. Well worth the money if you ask me.
I seen and tried the F2
I purchased the F1 due to
Size of machine also was a 4000.00$ dollar difference
And my whole family enjoys
Working on this daily
I have the FT1 and FT2 The differance is less than $2000. i bought both for both my homes
That's great!!
@@PhoenixVdieoStudioz how would you say they compare? If aiming at general fitness at home with just one piece of gear, what would you recommend going with? Is it Worth the extra dollars?
Can you show exercises without gravitation. For instant- glutes muscles by Lay down
Have a 5 year old M3 but not crazy about bench in the middle. Does this Ft1 or FT2 offer more exercises than the M3? Thanks
Amazing
I purchased the FT1 yesterday, after moths of searching functional trainers, yesterday was the first time I seen it up close , it’s quite compact and really smooth and extremely easy to move the pulleys up and down and also change the weights and accessories,my only concern were the 165 lbs weight stacks on each side would not be enough resistance for me so I added an additional 50lbs on both sides for a total of 215 lbs weight stacks on either side and even at that I’m still worried that it won’t be enough weight for me because of the 2:1 ratio making it like only about 107.5 lbs per side , also wondering if it would be possible to add more weight in the future if required, anyone else have the FT1 would appreciate some feed back , great video and awesome FT.
Hi there I was wondering the height if this? My basement is 83in would this fit in the space as terms of height and clearance
Unfortunately no,my basement is 91 inches and I had issues with pull ups and chin ups, could not do them because my head kept bumping the ceiling.
Specs are online, but I believe its 81 inches tall. No Phillips, tho.
Personal favorite! Available at California Home Fitness.
Where do you get the sports handle???
Tricep is 60% - 70% of arm mass. 3/4s is very very generous
Would it be possible to perform a leg press movement where you lie on your back on the floor and put your feet on the strap attachment and push up? I love using this type of leg press, not too many gyms have them. It looks like it would be possible on this machine if the pulleys were on the lowest pin.
Yes! I have seen it done.
Awesome! Thank you! I had back surgery 5 years ago and that position is so much more comfortable for me. Can’t wait to get my machine, should be next week!
Awesome!
we want one but you guys don't ship to BC Canada..darn...
Hi Kiff! We have Showrooms located around the world. Find your nearest one here: inspirefitness.com/showrooms/
Does anyone have experience with a seated person using this machine? Just wondering if a wheelchair would work/fit
You can place the pullys higher or lower to accomodate the height.
How much weight can you bench press, so using the two stecks?
With the stock weights (not the accessory kit), it is 82.5 x 2 (165) pounds, plus the bar or hand grips which you use.
What is the maximum amount for body weight to do pull ups?
about 500 lbs
About 500 lbs!
Will this equipment be okay to put upstairs ?
Yes as long as your ceilings are high enough!
Is Shelley a hostage?
Doing cables against her will
This is why you hire proper actors for commercials.
Hahaha what you don't like her "Get me the hell out of here!" face? I had to look away.
How’s the ftx compare to the ft1? Worth the extra money to get the FT1?
Hi there! The FTX does not have shrouds and is made with a different steel grade, so it's not as heavy as the FT1 and doesn't allow for the weight stack upgrade. This makes the FT1 a better option for heavy weight lifters. The FTX also has a different accessory rack with less included accessories than the FT1. Hope this helps!
@@InspireFitnessCA where do you get the sports handle? (It’s not on the website)
@@InspireFitnessCA what if I’m not a heavy lifter? Well the FTX be a good fit for me? I want to build muscle but I don’t want to get the FTX if it offer very little weight
Nice machine. Seems to be one of the more well thought out cable machines. Golf attachment. Good idea. :)
BUT...while this machine would be great for tight spaces it does limit one's range of motion when doing chest/back focused pulls. It's better if you could start with both arms at shoulder height inline with one's body and then bring the handles together. Having room for a cross cable machine that is spaced wide enough apart also allows for the "Muscle man pose move"...where you have both arms again at shoulder height but would be bringing the handles to your ears. Contracting shoulder muscles and biceps.
Also...while it's great that Shelly's in good shape. Nice back muscles. There are exercises "for women" and others that are not...if women want to keep their "attributes". The approach to their workout should be different. Something a lot of trainers overlook. used to training men. So they train female clients the same way they would their males. Giving their female clients a "physique" and not a "toned figure".
Then get the FT2 instead of this FT1, it's just one option they offer in a class of several. There is not any movement the FT2 can not do. You can get what your asking for, your just going to have to pay for it.
It sounded like listening to a robot
Wrong! The FT2 is the best functional trainer in the world.
ok
FT1.........FTX?.......
FT1 has the option for adding weight!
She talks too much 😆😉
Her t&a did all the talking
