The purpose of life is more closely related to being reconciled to God and worshipping him and living with him again some day. The good news is that Jesus ( God incarnate) died on the cross for those who put their trust in him. He lived a perfect sinless life and took the wrath that you and I deserve. This is how loving and good God is. To receive this free gift of mercy and grace as pertaining to Ephesians 2:8-9,
9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
