Thanks, I never quite understood what segmenting was, and my text books just went straight down to "criteria for segmenting international markets". Now I get the whole deal behind it...
I am having to do a paper on DMASA. I have to pick a hotel and write if that chain meet the criteria for a successful market strategy. I cant find anything on DMASA which is Defined, Measurable, Actionable, suitable, and accessible. I so need help please.
I really enjoy your vids, thank you very much for making them. Although I'd like to suggest that you try not to use the same words over and over again such as particular.
But this makes no sense. You've gone in knowing you're going to target and then just putting some labels on it around age, location & behaviours etc. The true value of market segmentation is in identifying new segments that you might not have otherwise considered that might be better for you to target. Yes you might have the segment you've always targetted, but you need to build out several segments and choose the ones to target or not target. How do you identify whether to enter a new market? or to launch a new line of clothing for older women? The problem with this is that there's no data. Where are you finding out the data of which age groups spend the most on clothes, which brackets of income spend what amounts on clothes. You need to build out the segments with data. Otherwise, you're just summarising what's in your head onto a piece of paper which will not help your business improve.
Your explanations are epic. Calm and thorough, I've even told my mates to check you out. Glad we found you.
