  • Explore the CPR's Kettle Valley Division, which was built by the Kettle Valley Railway. The model is built inside the S.S. Sicamous, now a museum in Penticton, British Columbia, Canada. You'll get to see CP Rail hauling goods through the mountains from Midway to Hope, as the whole line is modeled. The Kettle Valley Model Railway is sure to interest history buffs and railfans. You will also get to see the Sicamous itself, which the CPR utilized to move passengers up and down Okanagan Lake. We share railfanning video and lots of photos of the layout (which include a few other railroads like the GN and BC Rail, plus a little steam on the logging branch). Some images of the Sicamous and the museum's tug boats are also included as well as a partial cab ride video around the layout.
Thank you for viewing our UA-cam channel. Don't forget to give us a thumbs up if you enjoyed the video and subscribe if you want more to see model train and prototype videos.

Great video of this model railroad. I visited the Sicamous last summer and the model railroad and the paddle wheeler itself are well worth a visit.

This model railroad is a colorful piece of genius art. Beautiful, warm color combinations - those mountains, trees and foilage. And, both Canadian Pacific locomotive paint schemes, including the later hot orange(not shown here)were classic and well thought out.

Tear all this apart for wi fi reception? I have a couple choice words for that idea. How's this idea? Leave the layout as is, and guests can put the phone in their pocket and pay complete attention to the layout. Then buy a dvd in the gift shop on the way out... this layout is awesome, the builders can be very proud, and leave it be!

Tony, we're finding the old chicken wire to be sufficiently brittle that it can be removed without disturbing the hard-shell plaster. Any parts that do get damaged are easily repaired with either Hydrocal or spray foam insulation, carved and painted to blend with the surrounding terrain.

My grandparents lived along this line (Tulameen) & I used to watch trains go by in the line’s final years. I’ll have to check this place out the next time I’m in Penticton. Layout looks superb.
The history tidbit at the beginning talking about the CP mainline was a bit misleading as it crosses several mountain ranges & goes though some pretty tough terrain; although no doubt the KVR goes through some far more insane terrain.

So chicken wire can mess with Wi-Fi? I was going to chicken wire my mountain!
