Something wasn't right with him that day. I've seen him live before and he was great then. This seems so out of the norm for him. Whatever happened that day, I hope he takes some time to rest until he feels 100% better.

Oh dear. Enjoying the rider too much before going on stage. Probably had loads of visitors and "Would you like a glass of wine" x 20. His management should have hidden most of the booze until after the performance! If you are being paid to do a gig (and especially a headline) you have some responsibilities and that's turning in a performance to have some respect for your band and the audience who have shelled out money that goes towards your fee..

In his interview at rewind north he mentions not having Vince with him this time. I think his nervousness resulted in far too much Dutch courage - and without Vince to reign him in, who else is going to tell the star of the show to get a grip?
It’s so great that people who are “fans” are so quick to judge and dismiss his performance. As though pop stars aren’t allowed to be flawed and human. Let’s see all you dismissive naysayers spend 40+ years performing and not have one bad night. You want a robot to perform for you; go hire a robot.
Confirmed by Erasure Information Service weekly newsletter his bad performance was not due to any health-related issue. He got pissed in VIP before the show and was unprofessional, why so many deluding themselves that there must be another explanation?

Something is very wrong with Andy. Vince isn't even touring with him. Before someone says it, Andy has done solo work before. However he is performing under the band name Erasure and isn't doing any new solo material.
Vince's wife was diagnosed with terminal cancer a couple of years, unfortunately idiots like you put 2+2 together and come up with 5, if you were an Erasure fan then you would know Vince is taking time out to be with his sick wife, also Vince has stated he's already written the next Erasure album in between, just needs Andy to do the Vocals.

It appears exactly what happened according to staff was he was drinking in the VIP tent from 5pm. The staff couldn't stop him and he went on stage in this state. There is absolutely no excuse for this.

His brother said Andy was nervous and had a few drinks. Simple Pop stars have a concentrated focus on them. Andy Bell showed up and got nervous. He didn’t have Vince and it was a different crowd for him. Give the guy a break ❤
He's performed at similar events without Vince any number of times, so the "without Vince" and "different crowd for him" lines are irrelevent excuses. He was the headline act and ruined the night for many. No "simple" about it!
Very sad . I have seen him before and he had the crowds bouncing . Fantastic show however its clear that there are major issues behind the scenes. I checked out his performance at Rewind North a fortnight ago which wasn't great either. Only slight positive was he pulled it back ( a little ) after the first four songs. Maybe they put a recording on by then lol . Hope he gets the help he needs. Those two girl dancers were red hot though fair play.
also on headliners ....... Squeeze ! Noooooooooo. Totally not Rewind DNA materiel . They did an equally good job of emptying the field after fifteen minutes. Downbeat and tedious .
Andy had too much Tequila before the show, and no tour manager to dissuade him otherwise... I think it's a one off period in his career, partly due to pandemic pressures, death of a friend and his much loved Doberman, Angel... his videos are still fab, still making great music with Vince, I'm positive he'll learn from this and recover, they are a genius couple, you wait and see, there's plenty more treasures to unearth from them.:)
We left after 2 mins to have some late supper 😅 after 15 secs I thought his mic was off. I wouldn’t boo though. He sounded wasted when talking to the audience. Hope he can get sorted as he was excellent a few years ago. Was a fun weekend!
Let us all be brutally honest, Andy's voice has been on it's way out for quite some time and he isn't in great shape. Erasure were fantastic in their day, their music and concerts were brilliant in the old days, unfortunately, time moves on and age catches up with us all. Andy Bell is past it and he needs to give it up. All he is succeeding in doing is making himself look stupid. With respect.... stop! Give it up man.
Well, it's undeniable that we all gonna get old, but you can choose between aging well and aging badly...and definitely, Andy isn't making the best choices😞 Drinking a lot, smoking...even the gym looks like he left forever.

A few drinks is an understatement. Eye witnesses say he polished off a bottle of tequila and was passed out in the VIP tent earlier on!
