The first position is the most common position cat sleep in, they do it to preserve heat in their body. All my cats sleep like that, most of the time and if I pet them they roll on their back and show their bellies to me and start purring, a sign that they are relaxed and happy so it is not true at all that if they sleep that way they are feeling "stressed" or "out of sort". Who even does this researches?
This position might indicate stress if the cat also hides a lot. Otherwise, especially during cold weather, curling up is a heat conserving position. Showing the belly is a sign of trust. But don’t touch that belly, cat may interpret it as a treacherous attack.
@@userafw it depends on whether they are used to it or not, cats that have never been touched on their belly or aren't used to it would instinctively dislike it, but I caress mine that way since they were little so they love it and purr even more when I do it.
@@evil_resident9my rescue kitty grabs my hand gives it a nibble and then puts my hand on her tummy. If I try to move my hand off of her tummy she will grab it and pull it back. Yes, I have lots of scratches and punctures on my hands. My love marks.

Thank you s much. He sleeps on me almost every day like this, nothing new in the household. He is smart, loving, and HAPPY! Soo sweet. With others in the house too.
Woke up this morning to find my cat stretched out in full Supercat at the end of the bed. And sure enough, soon as I moved to start getting ready for work, he was doing his "please don't go" routine, constantly circling my ankles like he knows he's not going to see me again for 10 hours after I leave the house.
Please consider getting a companion kitty. My veterinarian talked to me about having a second cat thirty seven years ago when my kitty became lethargic. I was working three jobs and going to school at night. Since then I've had several cats. They get lonely when we leave for work or anywhere. I'm retired now and have five cats three are seniors, two are rescues, They are 5, 6, 11, 16 and 19 yrs old. It is wonderful having more than one and they help each other stay happy and rule the house. I feel like it's their home and I live with them. ❤
I used to have a male cat who slept in this form. After I got a second cat who bit his neck, he left us. I'm hoping he adopted someone who makes him happy.
If it is 'your' cat and your home, and he/she doesn't trust you, they very well might seek another home. Especially if it's female. That is, unless they're locked indoors and have no choice. I adopted a stray female, stayed with me for a year, she left to live with my neighbor the very next day after I adopted another stray.
both my cats sleep belly up and do not mind being "belly rubbed" at all, if gentle and the one that is not with us any more, (we had 3 at one time) was even more relaxed, he was sleeping belly up, on my legs, like in a hammock
I have a rescue kitten 6 mos old. Now that he has really gotten to know his new forever home and human cat daddy ... he sleeps next to or near me in the loaf position or stretched out on his side or totally on his back. 👍😉💓
My cat sleeps in all those positions especially the first one. When I go to pet him he’ll role over and show me his belly but I leave him alone when he’s sleeping. When he gets up he stretches out and comes for his pets and he always sleeps behind me on top of the couch he’ll even come in my room at night to check on me. Silly kitty I guess he wants to make sure I’m okay ❤
my baby girls favourite place to sleep in over y shoulders, especially when im on the computer, she will stay there for hours cuddeling ad driftig into a deep sleep, sometimes shee slip and roll down my back, then wake up a little grumpy and climb back up. my 2 boys oftern cuddle together on the top platform of the cat tree, they hae do that nce they were kittens, are they now a little big to share the pace absolutly, but they look so cute, they were insperable when they were tiny babies and as kittens you wouldnt find one without the other near by. im happy they are stil just as close
Yeah, I agree with you. I didn't understand that first point at all in video. My cat loves me, and sleeps that way often; she trusts me, too. So crazy!!!

This information is general yet very intuitive. And I find very entertaining! I suggest you explore what you heard that made you feel this way. I am sorry but this channel plays on anxiety and I think it’s neither helpful nor accurate. There is no evidence for many of these stories but since they create a barrier of shame for anyone who disagrees with them they don’t invite a balanced discussion amongst those viewing. I am unsubscribing because not only does this make me feel anxious regarding beautiful creatures that I love and am confident love me having now looked after 8 cats but it is clear to me that what it states as fact is just a point of view, it has not added to my understanding or happiness nor that of my cats and rarely offers anything useful. It’s click bait and alarmist and I am starting my 2025 by rejecting it.
Yeah, I had the "Hooman Mattress" happen a lot. My original 3 cats did it every night together and now this new elder cat does it. But also, maybe stop saying belly rubs are off limits. Most cats do allow me to do it, so it's still based on the human doing it.
Good Heavens! If you can’t read the “cat room” on your own, then please don’t have a cat. This is just a sad extension of the thoroughly discredited office body language junk.
I'm not responsible for educating you on cats, I recommend lots of books and try to stay off videos that use AI and other questionable content of varying quality.

My cat sleeps in any position she's comfortable!
my cat sleeps cuddles up to me, in various positions, always purring, i think he likes me just fine
A cat never sleeps near you if it is not safe. he will find somewhere else to sleep safely. I don't share your opinion on this.

Me neither. When cats form little kitty croissants it is far more likely they are just a bit nippy and that is the cosiest position to be in.
My cats name is Buddy 😊
You don’t know much about cats. They usually sleep like they are curled up mostly in the winter when they are cold
This content creator does not understand cats at a very basic level. Their video comments are full of viewer corrections.

The shrimp position is ideal for snoozing on a human lap

There trying to tell me I take up too much of the bed! ;)
Bullshit. Tired of people spreading cat lies

The cat was sleeping stretched on the floor, gave a quick pet.. minute later, have a purring lap warmer.
My girls love the shrimp pose. Just in this video Pokie went from shrimp to the supercat pose.
I am not a shrimp ... I AM a king prawn!!
Dos dueces! The Prawn Cracker wins! 🎶You got to know when to hold dem🎶😆🤣🦐 I LOVE Pepe the King Prawn.

Both my cats listen to me making music whilst stretching out on my desk. I have a Christmas song cover on my channel showing them listening 🙂
The first position is utter BS - all cats sleep like a pretzel regularly, it is usually to keep warm, or simply because they find it comforting.
Yeah, I agree with you. I didn't understand that first point at all in video. My cat loves me, and sleeps that way often; she trusts me, too. So crazy!!!
Cats sleep in what’s comfortable for them in position. A little less projection please.
Little less fussing please.
Not fussing, truth. Cats do what they do, people project. Get over it!

Hi , having a baby cat is like having a baby but babies do grow up as well so what toys and games can you provide to a grown up cat ? video suggestion

My Cat Oreo 🐱 sleeps at the end of my feet.
My baby boy doesn't like my cpap machine and has taken to stop sleeping with me and taking over my living room chair.
bummer. My Snowy climbs under the covers to snuggle almost every night/morning. I get very disappointed when she doesn't.
