..there is no such thing as Sim Card Manager on my Note 8 with latest Android on. BTW, whats the point in using this 'extension'? The phone got at least 64GB of own memory so cant really see any use for memory card, just use tray for 2 sim cards :)
This is because your SIM supports only single SIM ... this trick is only for phones with hybrid SIM tray ... and using it or not using it is a personal choice or requirement

As far as your phone supports dual SIM or to say it has hybrid SIM slot... it will work with full capability ...but at one time data will work with only one SIM depending on your choice

No you won't lose the warranty at all ... because every thing is external ...even if the water gets into this extension it won't impact the internal components... only you will have to replace this external support at max which would cost about $ 1.5 ...and moreover you can insulate the extension too as only SIM slot is exposed to water rest part is already insulated (thin connectors)

I was using this feature until last night I updated my Android to android 9 and afterwards it tells me that there seems something unusual to be in the SD card slot so I had to take the SIM card out. I checked this with the SD card, with the SIM card, and each of them works perfectly but both together gives me the message again that it seems something to be in the SIM card slot and the phone doesn't work. I don't think so ... however even if it does its really a matter of choice... for some dual sim may have higher priority than rare scenario of dropping phone in water... moreover you can still apply a water proof tape on this external SIM slot and use a back case to cover it to accidentally dropping it in water

Putting a memory card in your device doesnt effect it in anyway shape or form. The phone is not actually water proof the is actually water resilient
