If someone is trying to sell you steel or stainless steel but they dont know how magnetic either one is AND the stainless steel cost more can you assume the stainless is less magnetic that the other steel?

Ummmmmmmm if the magnetic test is to untrustworthy there is also the Spark test. How ever Scrap yards Pay out for SS is based on whether it is magnetic or not.

Assuming the test piece in it's very beginnings must surely had been rolled, cut, formed, drilled, or similarly stressed, does that mean the magnetic condition is temporary? This question is meant to be similar to Monty Python and the Holy Grail - The Bridge of Death - King Arthur's response. 😁
