That is Central Illinois Public Service #6, an 0-4-0T (the T is for tank engine). It was too light to regularly handle Mid-Continent's train rides and was thus used sparingly at Mid-Continent in the 1960s and was taken out of service in 1970 with major boiler problems. Repairs were started but never completed - which is why it is in the partially disassembled state in the video. The #6 left Mid-Continent shortly after this video was taken. It was sold to a private owner in northern Wisconsin with plans to cosmetically restore it.
My grandmother rode in the Copper Range Railroad cars you preserve many days to school. Every one of them. Never had a snow day off. In the Keewenaw.

I believe that tank locomotive is actually a sister to a 2-4-2 Columbia that ran on the St Louis Iron Mountain and Southern Railroad in Missouri.

Yes, it is still operational.
@@MCRHS thank god I saw a photo of it. On dummy trucks and I wasn’t sure it it was out of service the photo must have been old :)
Does Montana Western #31 run?
The #31 has not been operational since 1987. It requires repairs to its prime mover.
