How can it be inappropriate to remove such an important and cultural construction when it had been buried and forgotten? Now it is rebuilt and studied and admired around the world.
Would you prefer it met the same fate as the lamassu at the hands of crazy fundamentalists, who break up these incredible carvings, reducing them to rubble?

Exactly, and modern Iraqi's are not even remotely related to the ancient Babylonians. Greece has more of a claim on the ishtar gate then they do ffs. Iraqi's didn't care to find it and like you said would've 100% blown it up by now if it was still there.

.Are you okay? It is not your right or the right of any country to take the relics of another country. If those relics are present on the land on which I was born, then they are mine and my bloodline. They go back to the Sumerians, the original inhabitants of the country before the Babylonians and others.

Also, the war that took place in Iraq was due to the stupidity of your Western governments, and when the American army entered, it kil*led and destroyed many of the relics of Mesopotamian civilization, you only destroy and occupy, and when terrorism enters countries because of you.

You say we have nothing to do .with these antiquities. They are my right and the right of my country, like all countries in the world, and no one has the right to steal them

@@WinterfellenAll historical scholars have confirmed that the Iraqis are the descendants of the ancients. Who are you to say that we are a Sunnah from ancient times, to cling to the heritage of our ancestors, which you stole? I did a DNA analysis and it showed a percentage of 97 non-Middle Easterners, 56 Mesopotamians, and 34 Arabs. Who are you to deny our lineage and say that you are extinct? You are Europeans. Criminals and thieves of antiquities
