I can’t imagine why people would give you guys hate mail. From what I gather, you research extensively to give all the ‘Grimm’ details and accurate facts to iconic filming locations, along with witty humor, and even empathy towards loved ones when showing grave sites. I can see the passion in you both. Definitely one of my favorite UA-cam channels!

Interesting fact. The original puppet for the library ghost was considered too scary and wound up being used in Fright Night instead. You guys are always so insightful!
One of my most favorite movies growing up as a teenager. Has a very special meaning of going to see when it first came out with my best friend growning up that now is passed away in the last few years.

As a teenager I used to work at the LA Public Library back in the early 80s! Good old memories! I remember that fire!!
I remember a library coworker telling me that a "night shift security guard" at the library quit his job because he saw a library book cart move by itself and heard strange noises at night!
And this happened before the filming of the movie!
Getting hate mail is really sad. Some people just aren't happy no matter what. I ignore them & just sent them love & well wishes. I like the detail work in the book shelves if you look closer you can see the art put in them. Nothing beats the original library setting . I remember the green light bankers lamps they would have at the table.
Looks like those card catalogs were originally separated into four and on legs so they could have that hallway of them on the right. These are likely the originals that were used in the movie. Great find!!!
When I was young, I enjoyed watching Ghost Busters cartoons and animations, and the movie was fun, especially because the green slime monster was so cute, but it was interesting to see the shooting site of Ghost Busters again

Absolutely one of my all time favorite movies. I saw it in the theater the first Saturday it was out. The day before, I went with my after school group to see Gremlins! A memorable weekend, indeed.
When the library ghost morphed into the banshee looking thing, everyone in the theater jumped, but then started laughing hysterically at the Ghostbusters' reaction to it! From that moment on, I loved the film! It's one of those movies that always makes you feel better after watching it.

Love it. I remember using card index system (card catalog) growing up. Just a little FYI... the knob under handle of the CIS is the rod that ran through the drawer that held index cards in place. Another awesome video. Happy Halloween!

Awesome as always, guys! One of THE funniest movies ever. I love that's it's so old school New York which I remember as a youngin'. I was lucky enough to take a bunch of pics of the firehouse exterior in TriBeCa in 2014 shortly after Harold passed away. There was a memorial there with a bunch of candy bars. It looked totally brand new. Of course, lots of people there as always. And the public library at 42nd and 5th Ave. was somewhere I spent a lot of time in during college. Sat by one of the Lions many times. Merry Christmas to you both! ☃️

They are actively restoring the old firehouse with interiors in downtown LA that was used in filming, so hopefully you can tour that soon!!
The library ghost from Ghostbusters terrified me as a child. My dad had to hide the television with a nearby curtain whenever the basement scene came on.

I just saw the one with the firehouse and the hotel locations and when you said you would have to make another one for the library, I immediately looked for it. Can't believe that people would hate what you do. You are informative, entertaining and very respectful in all your videos. One thing I do like about your videos is if you aren't 100% sure of something you tell us.

I didn't know about the library fire. The library ghost was played by astrologer Ruth Hale Oliver. She was the Mother of Susan Oliver who played Vina in the Star Trek pilot episode The Cager aka The Menagerie.

Love Ghostbusters, huge fan, I think, I was 5, maybe 6? When I first watched it, 1985, I loved it, I loved it then, and still do, to this day, 2022, a childhood favorite of mine, RIP Harold Ramos (Egon) love the marshmallow man, great job Micheal and Jessica, absolutely amazing !!! ♥️

The card catalogues they used were genuine, they were unused at this time since the library had switched to computerized record keeping. The film crew built a false wall behind some of them and pushed the drawers open from behind then used pressurised air to blow the cards out. I watched a documentary about it in the 80s or 90s, can't remember exactly.

Ghostbusters has what I consider comedic gold, in one line: "Listen, do you smell something?" It ranks up there with "You're gonna need a bigger boat" from Jaws.

I would watch it every single time when I got the chance. It’s such a classic. That scene scared me as a kid. I love the Ghostbusters movies so much, it is sad that it caught on fire and things were destroyed, maybe someone saw the movie and thought there was real ghosts in there 😂

It is ironic that many people's first encounter with the paranormal is either in books or the library--that is actually haunted--such as the one in Indiana. I loved going through all the books about ghost stories in the library. I read almost everyone!! So it makes sense that the first ghost the Ghostbusters run into is in a library.

Awesome filming location. I'm a fan of Ghostbusters and it was cool to see this. I do know the Exterior scenes of the Firehouse were filmed in NY but the insides were filmed in L.A.

Can't believe how movie magic works. All this time I thought he was filmed in the New York public library. I mean yeah the outside was and the inside but when they go in the basement I didn't know it was in LA. I thought it was all in New York. It just shows you how movie magic works. It makes you believe it's all in one shot
