if i volunteer to help a friend I'm doing more for the spending time with him than the work or whatever it is, now if he asks me for help, i might take money, it depends. like i helped a buddy every day after work for week on his car, because i was excited for him and wanted to help get it going faster for him, not because i want money out of hm, or a favor. thanks for the video, i appreciate you.
Very good quality of your work I love to see most of your videos one day I would like to do something similar to me Go kart buggy It is a Jaguar 200cc 2014 but the engine that comes with GY6 is not very powerful I want something like this that you put together in this video continue like this colo 🔴 that I will continue watching 👍🏼
Heeaavvy duty!! You should see if the guy would be cool with naming it “Overkill”. Have your wife make some cool vinyl stickers from that Cricket. That would be saweet! Nice job on the swing arm assembly.
I would like to know How the foreword/ reverse gear box is holding up I want one for my 420cc predator with 40 series cut on it.Thanks for your time and information.
Can you all do a build with a divorced gearbox? Torque conterters are cool, but I would like to see how to integrate gears to make a shifter cart. Great Video!
Certainly made for a few people, I was thinking you were making a miniature rock buggi 😆😅 it looks good and pretty simple, if you know what you are doing, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
Looks pretty cool, man. I want to watch the rest. From what I’ve seen of your shop it’s come a long way dude! Maybe I’ve only watched old videos. Nonetheless Congrats!👍
I love watching what u come up with when building things I run demolition derbies which requires me to build a 4 point cage with a halo bar we call it (bar put rear door windows and across the roof) and I find that square or rectangle tubing is much stronger then round i tell ppl that emagine bending a paper towel roll soon as it starts to bend u lose any strength so I ALWAYS use square tubing
Wow! I remember you guys working on the floor of the garage at your house. You've come such a long way and what awesome content you put out for us to enjoy!
I don't know what others opinions are but building it to this specification is something I would do. There are times, like this, where overbuilding isn't a bad idea.
Dyno Test... I have always wondered if adding an additional sprocket for chain tensioning showes any appreciable decrease in output. Another one is when people use two sprockets to redirect the path of the chain. That has to have an affect on output.
Ill let you test that gearbox before buying one im more inclined to a reverse electric motor. Probably depends on kart weight. If its light this grarbox might be ok.
@RedBeardsGarage, have you ever considered building a flywheel and engine mount kit for the #Duromax 999cc to an OG VW Beetle transaxle? The first 1100cc German units were 26hp, by the time they were importing them to the USA with a 1200cc engine, it was 36hp and the 1300 was around 40hp. A stock or mild build Duromax would easily be able to swap, and no one would know unless you showed them.
@@RedBeardsGarage the transaxle bellhousing has 4 bolts in a circle pattern, and lightened "8 dowel pin" flywheels are available (along with racing clutches). It's just a matter of fabbing the flywheel adapter, possibly involving shortening the engine output shaft, maybe, and a couple of engine to crossmember plates you can cut pretty easily. Compared to the "engineers" in other countries doing similar swaps with angle grinders and hand drills on youtube, I think it would be a piece of cake for you. Anyway, I love your channel man. Keep up the great work.
The question is how strong is the diff case. I have one of the old Comet reverse boxes and they were designed with a long enough input shaft so you could support the end of it with a pillow block. An unsupported shaft isn't necessarily a bad thing, but that means the case alone has to handle the loads being fed into it and if you overdo it you can break the case. It'll be interesting to see how this diff holds up as there's not a lot of options for reverse boxes, especially once you're looking for something for big block or v twin engines.
Looking at the gearbox specs the ratio for F says 1:2. Does that seem right? Would I then be able to run a sprocket half the size to keep my gear ratio? Thx
You can't mount the driven clutch either way. This is a 780 clutch and the driven is mounted the correct way in this build. Only the Model 30 should be mounted with the spring-side facing outwards. The Model 30 is an asymmetric clutch and is designed to be a "Torque-a-verter add-on to minibikes and other devices using a clutch. The model 40 and above are designed to run with the spring-side inwards. Yes, I know. You see the Model 40 mounted spring-side out with the Go Powersports kit, but that's incorrect. The configuration causes the belt to move inwards on the driver clutch and outwards on the driven clutch and will cause premature failure of the belt.
@@RedBeardsGarage that's kinda my thought as well. I'm using a 670 and the same diff you are as well as a live axle. Keep up the great work, your videos make it so much easier for us weekend warriors.
We need info on the gearbox!!! I am doing a Club Car electric to gas swap with the Predator 459 and I need info on a heavier duty gearbox than the 30 series. Come on Man!!! Don’t bogart the info!!!
This unit is legit! Your skills have matured so much. It has been a blessings watching this channel all these years.
My son and I love your channel. We watch all your videos. We especially like how clean and family friendly the content is. Keep up the great work!
Great job Greg, top notch craftsmanship!
Way to hook up a friend!
Thank you sir
Definitely looking forward to your review of that gear box and the link to those gear box mount plates! Gear box is ordered and on its way!
I really like this build. Like you keeping the motor stock! It should be better than new buggy with a nice dependable motor. 👍
Best way to take out work for trade. Love to see how this thing turns out. PLEASE keep us in the loop! As always awesome video 😊
I'm excited to see how that gearbox holds up
Thank you for sharing 🤗🙏🇺🇲

I saw that gearbox too. I wanted to get it, but thank you for testing it.
Honestly as long as we start seeing some more post soon the multiple projects going has never been an issue😂👌🏽 love seeing the Redbeard garage flair❤

Would like more information on different- gear box for forward/ reverse to use on my ez -go golf cart with 420cc & live axle project of mine thanks.

I like the retangle tubbing suggestion.
Thanks for the tips. I really like how you did the bearing mounts.
Great work
It's a cool golf cart. It would be cool if the plastic on the motor matches the cart

Great job and pay back

S'all good Mr. Beard 👌 More is better, especially when it comes to Gravees 😋☮️
Nice golf cart build, I want to do a build like that some day too! God Bless RBG & family! Paulfrom S. Central TX..
Nice I’m definitely glad to hear their is a new higher horse rated gearbox. I wouldn’t of known if I didn’t watch your vids!
Looks damn good!
Great Job!
This is frickin awesome!
Love the build God bless RBG

I like it way better. And not having to mess with a bender is even better lol.
Agreed
I feel as I have watched your fab skills accelerate far beyond my capabilities 😂
I appreciate it man. It’s crazy how thing that use to take days take a few hours now.

I really want more information/testing on that FNR gearbox.
Red beard I’m not getting new videos when you up load them. Dang the usedtube is get one over on you. Still one of my top five channels.

Loving it so far. God I love this channel!
Would love to see a video on picking the right belt size
I start new projects every day. I can't think of any I have totally finished.
I call first dibs on that swing arm assy/engine when the china front end falls apart 🙂
" will never be back in the shop" (paraphrase)...... 😅
Braver man than me!

Reel nice Clark
Get it boi

Four wheel drive would be really cool
Thanks for the vid, missed your content! Brake ready hubs would be cool if your looking for something to sell.

What was wrong with the fwd electric? Use the vtwin to charge a deep cycle and you can have awd when you need it
Where can we get some of those minting brackets for the gear box??? Going to need some willing to pay.
Where did u get the spring for the driven pulley so u could mount it inboard?
If that reverse works even mostly good I need to know where to get it, been looking for a decent solution for awhile
When are the mounts going to be available?
Any update on these brackets being added to your website? I'm not seeing them.
Can you please post a review on the reverse gear box?!?! Lots of people want to know how it held up!!!
Can you put a link to the parts used on the swing arm I’m building a gem car too came out sick
Nice
Could make it a hybrid one day
If I ever find a good deal on a battery pack that would run the electric side and not be too heavy.
Any updates on how this gearbox is holding up?
You going to be dynoing that beast ? ....I am getting withdraw symptoms I need to know the results of the latest tests 😜
You at least doubled, if not tripled the HP handling capability of that diff by mounting it solid like that.
The question is how strong is the diff case. I have one of the old Comet reverse boxes and they were designed with a long enough input shaft so you could support the end of it with a pillow block. Yes there is a gear reduction in the gearbox allowing for smaller sprockets.
Did the reverse gear box work I'm upgrading from a 212 to a 420 duramax
Nice job Greg. Who makes that bender you use?
Thanks! It's a Nargesa from @quantumMachinery.
I found out a dish washer makes a great small parts washer dont ask my wife how I know that. Brent Glendale Az.
😂
hey man please do a performance build on the ducar 212 please no one has any videos anywhere
Hey! You got the Flywheel with starter ring for duro 420 yet!? The billet job.
Why can't somebody make a FNR gearbox for a 30-40hp motor?????? So maddening.
Rpm does. ( Moto Mule ) talks about it on his channel.
Hello have you added the bracket for the gearbox to your website? I am looking for one and can’t find it and what’s the price
Extreme duty swing arm now wont you back that thang up!?
I never realized you could mount the driven clutch component either way on the shaft.

Hi RBG what side of belt you get for the reverse?
What top speed are you anticipating? Building a very similar project
Probably around 40

Where do you get the inboard spring
How did the fnr gearbox work out...
When is road to Horsepower returning?
I could do with one off them for my buggy lol 😆 😂
can you put a 420 predator engine in a rzr 170 ?
How that gear box work out

Any info on the gearbox?
It's been a month now, when is the next DYNO series video?
I like over kill
Whaaaat what
So 😎
Dude, your growing hair on the wrong end!!!
I'm just here with a grinder a Flux core welder trying to make the parts he's making with computer😂
Bring back the predator dirt bike plz
Still waiting for the 999cc street legal motorcycle build
Go get a charger rear diff and subframe make it AWD!
Where did u get the inboard spring for the driven pulley ?
