There are certainly exceptions but I agree, most couture collections, are just so pretentious and scream failed artist 😂 One thing I will say is, you can find some exceptional quality pieces but is it worth paying 3-5 times more for something that’s isn’t 3-5 times better? I guess that’s always gonna be subjective. Like sneakers, lots of the fashion bits that resell high, it is simply down to low quantity. Trends come and go and are mad expensive. Buy and wear what u like. Flex it hard and be happy to set your own trends.
The style isn't really the problem if you like FOG, then it's in your wheelhouse. It's simply a price thing. As much as people say it's the same old look, essentials seem to always sell out at least 80% of its line up every season. I got pieces from the mainline and essentials. But I skipped out on the athletic because the garments are too similar to essentials for the price. I'd rather spend a little extra and get the mainline. I do think the quality looks more elevated than essentials but not double. If they made the price $100-$200 over essentials, I think it would land more with folks.
Dystopian custodial art vibes for sure with those fits. I could see adding a couple pieces to the wardrobe, selectively, but at those price points it's a pass from me. My girl liked the new high tops until she saw the price tag 🤷♂️

What is this about high prices? Have any of you seen what a Jordan collab product with Balvin or Travis Scott costs(or any famous brand collab) these days? It’s so simple. If you want the lower cost option, get essentials. If you’re more into athletic leisure wear it’s adidas FOG. And if the higher end appeals to you it’s FOG. I have three of the adidas FOG shoes and honestly love the fit and finish of each. The quality of materials and comfort are far more appealing to me than another pair of retro Jordans. The material and workmanship quality of the adidas FOG are also so well executed. If you have had the opportunity to wear the sweatpants or crewshirts… and the hoodies… you’d probably appreciate their value that much more. How much can you improve on what was once called a “kangaroo jacket.” Yet he has improved on all these categories of clothing in ways nobody else has. Say what you will and you can either be armchair analyst critical or maybe try out one piece and see just how insanely comfy these clothes really are. If a piece can last 5 years of weekly rotated wear, I’m fine with paying a bit more for it.

Pretty bad overall take imo. The only thing I do agree with you on is the timing of the release. The first collection sold out so how could you say it was a "flop"? The pricing is also correct as it was always meant to be in between Essentials and mainline. Why would he cannibalize his own essentials line by pricing it the same? That's just bad business. Have you seen or touched the athletics pieces in hand? They are a level up from essentials pieces when you look at the details in hand. As far as keeping up with trends, FOG stays true to its style and doesn't need to adopt what is currently trendy, that's not their identity. Although all the pieces don't fit my personal style, I still think its a fire collection and can appreciate what he's created. If you can afford to dabble in the athletics line, I would highly recommend it.
Not understanding the market is the clear thing here. This type of style is cool but very much 2018ish. This belongs in that ultraboost era. I probably would buy something of it wasn’t $300. Like maybe even 60-80 would be reasonable.
I think the clothing was for sure a failure and way to much but the shoes. Idk i think they have potential just haven't got the most best colors I've copped 2 pairs of Fog 1s. The 1s sold pretty well yesterday over here and most of the PE pairs where sold out with in 30 minutes. People been crying about the pricing but. Where they crying when they where paying $230-$300+ for any Yeezy shoes years ago. From what i know is that Jerry only works on designing with the design team. He has other people handling the business side and marketing. That Davin Haney Boxing fit and loosing the match against Ryan Garcia was a joke to the world! and being associated to FEAR OF GOD wasn't a good look for the brand at all, A lot of people have moved away from that brand as time have gone by with any brand people grow out of it, but they have a chance to fix all their issues and become a staple with new and older customers. I would fire the CEO, the Marketing team and get a New design team and an actual HEAD designer. And See what people don't like about the brand! is it Prices? fits? Buying experience? Design? Fakes? release dates too long? etc. All their issues are written in every comment section on youtube that can help them out.

One of the things that worked with Essentials line is that it was getting FOG cuts and styles with similar quality materials without the ridiculous price tag. If people wait for end of season sales you can buy products of such great quality for under £50. The athletics collection doesn't improve on any of the quality that the essentials line has (in a number of pieces actually made worse) yet charging similar pricing to the recent Gucci collab line.

The pricing is also correct as it was always meant to be in between Essentials and mainline. Why would he cannibalize his own essentials line by pricing it the same? That's just bad business. Have you seen or touched the athletics pieces in hand? They are a level up from essentials pieces when you look at the details in hand. As far as keeping up with trends, FOG stays true to its style and doesn't need to adopt what is currently trendy, that's not their identity. Although all the pieces don't fit my personal style, I still think its a fire collection and can appreciate what he's created. If you can afford to dabble in the athletics line, I would highly recommend it.

I think the clothing was for sure a failure and way to much but the shoes. Idk i think they have potential just haven't got the most best colors I've copped 2 pairs of Fog 1s. The 1s sold pretty well yesterday over here and most of the PE pairs where sold out with in 30 minutes. People been crying about the pricing but. Where they crying when they where paying $230-$300+ for any Yeezy shoes years ago. An Yeezy ain't a luxury Brand like FOG really and pricing is almost the same if not cheaper then some Yeezy models shoe wise that people bought up no problem like the Wave runner and Desert boot. Like i said tho in beginning clothing is def gonna be high taking into account the normal brands clothing ranges from $100-300 for shirts , crewnecks and hoodies if not more for the Mainline brand .So why would expect the Adidas collab to be cheap? That's like expecting Gucci or LV to make cheap clothing for normal people that's the whole point of the brand is an exclusion of people to make there customers feel special. The adidas Gucci Samba was $400 people scooped those up no problem, The tiffany AF1 was $400 people where fiening over those sold out in seconds. Just think people flip flop and contradict themselves so much u cant really trust there word to be unbiased.

Since i still see people wearing clothing that looks to be inspired by FOG , Yeezy, Balenciaga , Hellstar, Ed hardy, Chrome hearts and etc. Just seems to be a select group of people tho.
I quite like a lot of the pieces, but I have a lot of FOG/Essentials already so I don’t feel like I need to buy anyone if it. I actually quite like the LA runners, so I’ve got a pair of them coming. I like the basketball shoes but I don’t play basketball and I’m not gonna wear them in the street so I passed.

God the athletics line just sucks so much. I don't like the mainline or essential lines either, but at least there's purpose. Mainline is typical high end clothing with high prices but with usually much higher quality materials. with a minimal look. Essentials is bringing the price down to hit the mass markets while lowering quality to match profit margins. Athletics is.. the cheaper quality of essentials, plus the inflated price nearing it to mainline value, with 3 stripes added to it?
From what i know is that Jerry only works on designing with the design team. He has other people handling the business side and marketing. That Davin Haney Boxing fit and loosing the match against Ryan Garcia was a joke to the world! and being associated to FEAR OF GOD wasn't a good look for the brand at all, A lot of people have moved away from that brand as time have gone by with any brand people grow out of it, but they have a chance to fix all their issues and become a staple with new and older customers. I would fire the CEO, the Marketing team and get a New design team and an actual HEAD designer. And See what people don't like about the brand! is it Prices? fits? Buying experience? Design? Fakes? release dates too long? etc. All their issues are written in every comment section on youtube that can help them out.

What is it with Jerry''s new obsession with Teletubbies hoods! One of the things that worked with Essentials line is that it was getting FOG cuts and styles with similar quality materials without the ridiculous price tag. If people wait for end of season sales you can buy products of such great quality for under £50. The athletics collection doesn't improve on any of the quality that the essentials line has (in a number of pieces actually made worse) yet charging similar pricing to the recent Gucci collab line.
I actually really dig the "one model" kicks. Price is ridiculous though.
