Jerry did mention and recommended to go half a size up specifically on the basketball shoes and go true to size on the other models that dopped. He also said that the next drop is gonna be leaning more towards performance. I don't think these were meant for actually playing basketball because of all the points you mentioned. Great review as always. Can't wait for you to test the actual performance oriented pairs next!
I usually wear between a men’s U.S. 10-10.5 IN JORDAN 1’S with a medium to wide foot, I copped both pairs in 11. Glad I did! PERFECT FIT! I think they’re very comfortable. Yesterday I wore the all black pair for the entire day, with no discomfort whatsoever. Sorry about your experience. I’m very happy with my kicks
It’s definitely a shoe made for basketball tunnel fit pics, not solely for on court performance. Jerry adopted basketball style, a football boot and the evolution of Nike 1 FoG.
Design wise I think this is an incredibly underrated sneaker. I'm really surprised about the hate I've seen for not just these shoes, but the entire collection. The apparel is okay, but aesthetically I think these are incredible and were a must-cop for me so I'm glad they were an easy pickup. Fortunately, I sized up because I heard Jerry Lorenzo say it was probably within your best interest to do so and that was 100% the right call. The shoe may not be ideal for performance like they're trying to push, but I think they look cool as hell and that's all that really matters to me.
There was an interview where he said this shoe technically isn’t a performance shoe. It’s named basketball but its a casual shoe They said the actual basketball performance shoe is coming later.
How do they fit, does one have to go 1/2 size up from your true size? I have noticed that for adidas I have to go 1/2 size up. But being that this model looks like it mold to your foot, I wounded if a full size up is better. Cheers and congrats on your purchase.
Funny enough, Jerry said the price will go down eventually, so I’m guessing we won’t see the fancy packaging anymore. I’m guessing around 200 ish eventually
im just glad someone finally made a HONEST review on these because everyone else ive seen review these just keep praising jerry lorenzo's "design" even though there's not much to be praised, especially when it comes to the performance aspect for the shoe
Just got these in the light brown colorway. I went half a size up. Mad comfortable and they look amazing. One of the coolest shoes i‘ve ever owned. I also like the futuristic touch
Whether its performance or just standing around, Adidas has millions of data points on the human foot, yet they don't know what shape feet are or what "size" means? Start with a last of the average foot and make the shoe fit that, if you make a size 10 shoe that runs a whole size small, call it a 9. It's not rocket surgery!
I'm glad I went a half size up. I feel bad for all the people who purchase the wrong size. I think these look dope but I didn't buy them for basketball playing.
I had to return mine because they were absolutely destroying the arches of my feet (I have flatter feet). No give whatsoever in the midsole. I could walk for maybe about 2-3 minutes before I was in pain. I went up half a size and my pinky toes were fine but the underfoot comfort is terrible. Also not breathable at all. Maybe it's also because my feet were in pain but my feet were heating up as if I was wearing a boot, if even. Love how they look but I won't trade comfort for style - not anymore anyway lmao.
I have 2 pairs of Adidas, an OG pair of DMC's, a pair of Tim Duncan OG's. Was thinking of getting the Korn pair but I'm just truly into Nike/Jordan since 85! These kinda look cool but I would never own a pair. I think this the new casual try from Adidas 🤷🏾♂️ Nice work you two 👍🏾
You shouldn’t have to follow someone to know how sizing works. Make shoes true to size or accept that you don’t make shoes true to size and be prepared for negative feedback regarding fit.
@@WearTesters exactly. Where was the notification of this. And yeah if I have to guess on what size my foot is just make a damn 10.5 be a ten. Absolutely stupid from Adidas and Jerry and then say no returns or exchanges

Tried hooping in these great shoe. Traction was ok. Cushion was nice. Heel slipping was a thing. Using the laces to tighten hurt my ankle. Lockdown is ass. Stay casual wear on these for sure
With the exception of the Yeezy line all Adidas run true to size for me. I’m a thirteen btw and sizing has never been an issue in performance or lifestyle sneakers. 250 for light strike is absurd and I couldn’t agree more with y’all on this shoe 👍🏾
I’ve been wearing them for everything (going out, gym use and running) the all blacks hold up well and my feet were comfortable for the most part Surprisingly, even after a jog outside . I have yet to play them for basketball, so I’m not too sure how they’ll hold up.
There are some issues with the materials and sizing but the overall look of the shoe is next level. They just should have removed the basketball from the name. Nothing is performance related. I do love my pair, but respect the criticism because it isn’t unfounded.
My pair arrived a few hours after this video released. And I can attest that everything Chris said is 100% on point: this is a huge, heavy, overbuilt, stiff, ill-fitting, ludicrously impractical brick of a shoe. It makes the T-Mac 5 feel like a ballet slipper. Also, while I've always had good luck with adidases fitting me tts, I'm very grateful I ordered this a 1/2 size up, and I probably wouldn't have been unhappy with a full size up, it's remarkable how small it runs. In part because it doesn't seem to have been designed around a human foot at all. As I understand, Jerry Lorenzo considers this shoe more a prototype and a learning experience than anything else. I buy that, this really feels more like a concept that it does a commercial product. That said, I have countless comfortable shoes, I have countless others I can play basketball in, so I'm not terribly disturbed that this shoe is uncomfortable and useless for basketball. I was strictly interested in how unique and how of the moment it is, so I got exactly what I paid for. Also worth noting this shoe feels like a Mack truck could run over it and not damage it in the least.
I figured they were exactly how you described. I went with the LA Runners instead and they are really comfortable in terms of a lifestyle shoe. I definitely ain't running in them.
I’ll be honest I saw (and tried on) a few of the Nike Fear of God shoes and all of them were really bad on feet. A bunch went to outlet in the UK and I’m not surprised as they were below average shoes with hefty price tags. I’ve no idea why adidas thought this partnership would work but this shoe looks like another overpriced fail- just with excess packaging.
Definitely expensive asl, But I bought them. I genuinely like the look of the sneakers. Luckily, Jerry Lorenzo, Fear of God Creator, said that since they have the RnD process down, the retail prices of their products should go down.
Its function as a basketball sneaker is extra disappointing considering it has been three years since this partnership between Jerry Lorenzo and Adidas was announced. But hey, it does look pretty cool for casual wear.
It's a good looking shoe. I'm not going to say I wouldn't spend the money but they're a big stretch to call them a "performance" sneaker. And yes I agree about adidas sizing. There are plenty of shoes that I can't get my foot into.
