    After almost two years of looking for one, I just got my hands on one (a refurb) in great condition. It's an absolute joy to shoot, I like it so much I'm having an extended barrel commissioned.

      Nice, I’d like to get the extended barrel too, especially threaded for a silencer.
      We have to be careful in the U.K as a long barrelled 600 can easily go over the legal power limit.

      Arran C depends where you are, in the U.K a nice one will be £200-£300 depending on condition, box etc. They very rarely come up for sale though. Back then you needed a firearms licence to own them here so not that many made it over. Plenty for sale in the U.S do not as expensive there.

      I don’t know, you’d have to pay 20% vat and customs can be funny about gun shaped items. I still get airguns from Europe but I think the US is more problematic. They come up for sale in the U.K, but you have to keep looking and may have to wait a year or two.

    I have a Crosman 600 in a custom made wooden rocket box. It needs a valve stem as the old one doesn't seal any more. When it used to work I chrono'd it using 14.3 grain Crosman Premier pellets at 340 fps. I've had three of these pistols over the years. One used to fire full auto for about 5 shots. As you say they are very complex; and prone to hissy fits!
    Many thanks for a brilliant video.

    My favorite air pistol too! I got one over 30 years ago. It works, sort of - the shuttle does not reset all the way to get the next pellet. Have never gotten around to find a place to rebuild/repair it. (of get the parts and DIY)

    • @dkjngl1
      @dkjngl1  2 роки тому

      I have had some jamming problems with this one too, in the end I put a wafer thin plastic washer around the rod that goes through the shuttle, between the shuttle and breech and now it’s much more reliable. Usually as soon as I start filming it starts jamming! Such a great pistol though. Cheers

  • @davecairns8019
    @davecairns8019 Рік тому +1

    The Crosman 600 600 can’t be dated by the serial number. Crosman didn’t start adding the date into serial numbers until 1975. The model 600 had a production run of ten years from 1960-70 with three different variants being produced, which can be easily differentiated through the end caps. The first variant which is like yours utilized a traditional piercing cap assembly, these were made from 1960-64. The second variant was produced from Oct. 64 to Jan. 66, they had an internal piercing pin, with an open ring tube cap. The third variant from 66-70 utilized a push button piercing cap. The only way to figure out what year your 600 was produced would be to find out how many were produced in a year and try to make a good guesstimate.

    • @dkjngl1
      @dkjngl1  Рік тому

      Yes I’ve since seen other 600’s where the s.n couldn’t correspond to a date so I agree this one probably coincidentally fits in with a plausible date for this first variant.
      Thanks for the info

    I’m surprised the semi auto 600 isn’t the more popular vs the bolt action single shot 1322 & 1377. What would make this a real crowd pleaser is a variable pump version.

    • @dkjngl1
      @dkjngl1  2 роки тому +2

      They still make the 2240 co2 single shot but the 600 was only made between 1960-1970 so there are fewer about. Amazing pistols, but prone to jamming etc so I think Crosman got a lot of warranty returns so they stopped making them. Pump up repeater would be good, although the 600 uses a lot of co2 for the repeating mechanism. Only get 30 shots per 12g co2 bulb.

There is a gap between the cheap toy like DA guns and the LP50 that needs to be filled.
