- A lot of birds love grape jelly, but robins? See for yourself. I interspersed a few shots of the real Baltimore Orioles. Can't say as I blame "Baltimore Robin" though. I, too, much prefer grape jelly over worms.
Me again! Loved the Nuthatch, Goldfinch and Downy (or Hairy...hard to tell!!) too! May I ask what kind of camera you have set up? Is it a GoPro?? I'm trying to figure out the best type of camera I could buy for doing the same thing. Your editing is superb as well...something I need to learn how to do. SO much to learn for a 62 year old!! Ha! Thanks for posting so many wonderful videos!
You're welcome and thanks for your nice comments. I have a cheap Ultra HD Flip cam. Cisco no longer makes them but you can still find them on Amazon and Ebay. And I use a small collapsible tripod with velcro straps that I strap onto a nearby shepherd hook. Birds don't seem to mind it. Gets me a lot of up close and personal vids. The software included editing. I know there are much better cameras, but this was a best buy for me. Can't go wrong with GoPro though. If I can do editing, you can. I'm a great-grandpa in my 70's. Lol. We can always lean on the youngsters for help.
Thank you for your tips and encouragement! So far I've used either my cell phone (not at all stable & limited zoom) or a Nikon Coolpix on a tripod. I've got the basics down on the Nikon, but good Lord, to learn ALL the facets of that camera I'd need a PhD!!!! The manual is huge! Yes, I may have to enlist some help from my youngest son...he's great with "gadgets"! Carol
my house finches and robins never touch grape jelly. However our chickadees think they are hummingbirds and have a great time at the hummer feeder.
That's amazing. And I've never seen a chickadee on our hummingbird feeder.
You should get a suet cage with a tail prop. I bet the Pileated would come around a lot more.
