This run by Tom King and Daniel Sampere has been very different compared to other WW runs. The artwork is ridiculously good. Tom King's interpretation of Diana is a modern take on Marston's version of WW (the original writer and creator of WW) with female camaraderie, bondage scenes, and ultimately empowerment. This was one of the better portrayals of Cheetah as well - Cheetah is not Wonder Woman's archnemesis - she is more of a rival and sometimes ally, sometimes friend. The same applies to Silver Swan, Giganta, and Circe. The true enemies of Diana would be characters Grail, Doc Psycho and Ares or even Maxwel Lord. I do hope Tom King reintroduces more enemies like Veronica Cale, Egg Fu and Oolong Island, Doctor Cyber and even Brother Eye. Someone pointed out that no woman/girl was left behind on the island. I agree Green Lantern: War Journal is very well written, but so is the regular Green Lantern title.
There were a lot of sites and people who said that in the previous issue that Wonder Woman does not have a "No kill rule." However, I disagree because I have read comics for a little while, and in the Wonder Woman comics, it shows Wonder Woman like that. In the comics, she is a warrior, and she fights, but she tries to avoid fighting and killing people, and she has those stories where she talks with her villains about changing, like Giganta, and Grail in the issue when she took over Themyscira and Wonder Woman faced her and said that she would prefer Grail as an ally, and especially Cheetah how she doesn't want to kill Cheetah and she wants to hope that her old friend is still there, but that makes sense with her character about her seeing fellow women as sisters and things like that. However, there were parts where she spears men and other doing the classic hero sh!t, and especially when she killed Maxwell Lord and she was being hunted by Sargent Steel and his forces and she went to fight Cheetah or someone else, I can't remember exactly, but she said, "Now I see that taking one life is too much." So, yeah, I don't believe that Wonder Woman doesn't have a "No kill run" Maybe if it is like the Parademons from Darkseid, or demons or zombie armies or other giant Justice League threats like that, but still.
Wonder Woman is definitely my favorite ongoing series. Solely because of its ambiguity of the next issues, you don't where it's going to go. And by the time we do get to the actual issue its a pleasant surprise. Personally, i hope it continues in the long run.
Thank you for enjoying this book as much as I have. I totally agree with you on the shopping trip issue, but the rest? Absolutely fire, and I have no idea how King is going to resolve this story. We know it DOES, clearly the Sovereign is relating the story to a much older Trinity….but I can’t figure out where he’s going. And that? Is a pleasant surprise.
This issue looks like Diana is like Tyr in God of War Valhalla giving therapy in Kratos' life. Yes. Kratos is like Barbara Minerva. This issue is very interesting.
Personally for me I wanted this level interaction to be with Circe. One because thats my favorite WW villain, and 2 because I want them to solidify WW as the magic member of the trinity.
About the jet: Donna and Cassie can fly and get Yara home. Cheetah cannot fly and, well, I don't think Diana wants to trust in holding her for a long flight.
I'm going to buy the issue today but did they explain why Diana didn't just fly off of the island using her powers was the island in Magic or something
Hmmmm, I've been nervous about picking this run up because I saw some scans by the same author of Diana's future daughter and it was a MESS. Just a completely, almost mid-90s girl power character (don't worry boys etc etc) and it was just baaaad. How does all that figure into this part of the run? Because if the Trinity thing is ongoing I'm not interested.
This was a terrible issue worse than the shopping for Batman &it was because of the Wonder Girls, none of them are actual like like. Yara Flora grew up in Idaho not in the jungle &she doesn't have an issue with the English language. Tom King & Tom Taylor just need to stay out of continuity cuz then they can do whatever they want w/ the characters. War Journal is easily the best series at DC, Green Arrow started really strong but fell off-hard &same with Green Lantern, these events are killing all these titles
The Wonder Girls were not left behind. The next shot had them all crammed in the backseat with Cheetah :P
Can't they all fly?
@@kingdariusckajagthedripper1119 Just Donna and Cassie. Yara can't.
Tom King is killing it on this book
I like how cheetah was handled in this issue.
As usual I love your commentary. Absolutely love Wonder woman, war journal is amazing. Penguin is real good too. Thanks
I loved Yara! This was her first time in the invisible 🫥 jet 🛩️. Enjoyed this issue. Loved Cheetah 🐆 and Diana’s fight.

Wonder Woman would kill her enemies if she thinks it necessary she killed ares
Best dc series at the moment
Man...this book LOOKS beautiful!!! Gonna cop the trade.

Thanks for covering this again. 😊

this was soooo good. Best portraiyal of Cheeta. Cant wait for the next issue

I had this idea some time ago that there should be a Wonder Woman equivalent to The Captain Britian Corps. and this comes pretty close to it
This along with both green lantern books titans and penguin are the best dc books out there today
I really enjoyed that. ^^ Great art and Story (at least for me;)
I think the Poison Ivy book is phenomenal!
Personally for me I wanted this level interaction to be with Circe. One because thats my favorite WW villain, and 2 because I want them to solidify WW as the magic member of the trinity.
I just knew they was gonna be freaking from the title.
I really should atart following this series. And i love these versions of the costumes! Yeah, I know, probably the most minor thing about the book)
I personally feel like we need more yara flor. She’s a fascinating character
About the jet: Donna and Cassie can fly and get Yara home. Cheetah cannot fly and, well, I don't think Diana wants to trust in holding her for a long flight.
Why does wonder woman need a jet? She can fly ✌🏾😅
Well originally she couldn’t so at this point it’s basically just a staple
I'm going to buy the issue today but did they explain why Diana didn't just fly off of the island using her powers was the island in Magic or something
Is this is an arc I'm interested in. I just haven't read any DC in years so I ...slightly intimidated.

I've always thought that cheetah should've been a black woman. More plausible to come across cheetah totem
No...just make a new character...A Black Leppard vixen
Is this available in a trade?
you dont like Titans or JL?
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Cheetah and nearly all WW villians are extremely confusing. Feels like they get rebooted every new writer.
This story just seemed weirdly done.. IMHO
