That looks so delicious Cathy! I didn’t even think about using freeze dried foods in fermenting. This would go great with milk kefir too! Thank you for taking part in Fermented February!
There are so many things to try this month. This looks delicious. I have some blackberries in the freezer that I have been wondering what to do with. This seems like a perfect solution.
Oh, that looks delicious. I'm glad to see a recipe with honey instead of sugar, although I'd imagine they'll all work with honey. That's so cool that freez dried fruit works as well as fresh!
I enjoyed your video so much that I'm going to my pantry and get the freeze dried fruit I have in my emergency bucket...looks so delicious with the yogurt, thank you Cathy!
You're welcome, Mary! (I know, I've dipped into my emergency supplies, too.) I did have to add more sugar because the blueberries and plain yogurt were quite tart. Just taste and see what you want!
Never thought you could do freeze dried fruit and give it to ferment. Great video and great idea because you could add this like you said to so many things get kids to eat fermented foods and them not even know it. I bet that was really good over yogurt
This looks delicious! It would be a great way to "sneak in" some extra nutrition for my unsuspecting nephews... here kids, have some icecream with berries! Who would say no to that! 😉
Awesome! Next time I don't think I would use blueberries because they took so much longer than the others to rehydrate and they're a lot more tart. Between those and the plain yogurt, I did have to add more sugar.
Oh CATHY THANK YOU!!!! I had been wondering this VERY THING, whether it would work or not. I had actually asked another creator, that has a freeze drier, to see if they would try making vinegar from freeze dried apples. MANY MANY thanks for doing this!!!! It makes me think the vinegar SHOULD work 😃 Your berry ferment looks absolutely DELICIOUS! EXCELLENT video!
You're welcome and thank you so much! I did add some more sugar because the blueberries and plain yogurt were rather tart, and that helped a lot. I never thought of making vinegar from freeze-dried apples, but... why not??!! I would love to find out how that works for you.
I’m learning so much with this series including that fermentation has such a broad scope of options for fermenting! Thank you for your spin on fermenting.
What a wonderful idea. I like the idea of eating a ferment with another ferment. It looked sooo good. I have seen so many good fermenting videos. Thank you, take care and God Bless.
Thanks! Next time, I probably won't use blueberries because they took longer to rehydrate. With the plain yogurt, it was quite tart and I ended up adding more sugar. God bless you too.
This was so delightful to watch. Your demeanor, Candace, delivery was so nice to watch. Kept me captivated. New subscriber here! And UA-camr- LOL Thank you, I will look into thrive. We’ll appreciated.
Hi Kathy, thanks for the freeze dried berry fermented recipe. What a great way to use our freeze dried berries. I make oatmeal every morning and the fermented berries would be a wonderful addition to it. Thanks again.
Thanks! The blueberries took longer to rehydrate, so I will probably leave them out the next time. They were also more tart with the plain yogurt, so I had to add a little more sugar.
Yep! But you would only want to add a couple tablespoons of the fermented berries to your smoothie or you may get a gut ache from consuming this jar all at once.
I am so excited to see this video! Not only is it a fruit ferment but this also showed me that I can use some of my freezer dried foods for fermenting! These berries look delicious!
Awesome!!! The next time I make it, I will probably leave out the blueberries since they took so much longer to rehydrate than the other berries. Also, add a little more sweetner :)
@@northstarprepsteader you could try breaking the blueberries up a bit and they will probably rehydrate better. I like to cut my blueberries in half when I freeze dry my own since you have to Peirce the skin anyway.
Wow!! That looks so yummy on ice cream, I love berries, fermented berries is new to me but I want to try it, thanks for sharing, God bless you 👩🏽🌾🙏🏽🧡💖
That looks so delicious Cathy! I didn’t even think about using freeze dried foods in fermenting. This would go great with milk kefir too! Thank you for taking part in Fermented February!
Thank you Anna!

Oh, that looks delicious. I'm glad to see a recipe with honey instead of sugar, although I'd imagine they'll all work with honey. That's so cool that freez dried fruit works as well as fresh!
Thanks! Yes, since it all has to get kind of mashed anyway, it was no problem having the mushy rehydrated berries.
Oh my gracious that looks so amazing!! I've got this on my list of fermenting in March.
Awesome!
Never thought you could do freeze dried fruit and give it to ferment. Great video and great idea because you could add this like you said to so many things get kids to eat fermented foods and them not even know it. I bet that was really good over yogurt
Yes! I did sweeten it a bit more because the blueberries and yogurt were a little too tart, but this can go with so many things.
That looks super delicious. I will definitely be trying this. Topped with some crunchy granola … yummy!! Thank you for this recipe. 🤗
Oh that sounds really good! You're welcome! I found I needed to add a little more raw sugar since it was quite tart.
This looks delicious! It would be a great way to "sneak in" some extra nutrition for my unsuspecting nephews... here kids, have some icecream with berries! Who would say no to that! 😉
Thanks! Haha, so true! Great idea.
And for picky husbands. 🤷♀️😂😃

Game changer, right?!!!
I love this! Looks like a great recipe to try out for first time fermenting! I just so happen to have some thrive too!
Awesome! I did have to add more sugar because the blueberries and plain yogurt were very tart. Next time, I probably won't add the blueberries.
I was just wondering what I was going to do with the giant bag of mixed berries in my freezer! Thank you!
You're welcome! Enjoy!!
That looks so good and I have Thrive life fruits so I'm definitely going to try this. Thank you!
Awesome! Next time I don't think I would use blueberries because they took so much longer than the others to rehydrate and they're a lot more tart. Between those and the plain yogurt, I did have to add more sugar.
Hi Cathy, this looks so delicious. I will add it to my list.
Awesome!
I never thought to use freeze dried fruit in a ferment!! Thank you for doing this awesome video I cannot wait to try this🌸

Making fruit even more healthy? Yes!
lol, you betcha!
Wow, this opens up possibilities that don't require fresh produce so one can ferment in the winter! Thanks
Right!?!?! Also, you can more easily control the amount you want to ferment without wasting any food (e.g. leftover berries).
