In this case tapers to slightly smaller.
what is symptom of bad bushing?
Depending upon which bushing is failing the one at tranny end of cable or shifter end of cable. Shifter end of cable can be poor alignment when selecting gear example choosing D for drive and it isn't staying in place ALSO "sloppy shifter". This is where the shifter moves around loosely and is more common in certain makes and models. If bushing at tranny end is bad you select the gear but it doesnt hold. Best way to confirm is to disconnect the shift cable and inspect the bushings at both ends. Look for cracks, chips, breaks or even in some cases missing bushing.
@@BushingfixFL thanks. my 02 just suddenly lost park and started to roll away. column shifter goes to park but indicator on dash shows r and safety switch prevents starting. if i pull shifter down to reverse r continues to show. pull down to neutral and n shows and it will start. r and d and 3 work for driving.
