    Ang galing ng mga tips at ang recipe mismo very interesting! Never thought of monggo and papaya plus longganiza para sa empanada pero ini-imagine ko pa lang...ang sarap na ! ma- try ko rin ito po.

    I remember going to Ilocos and just having empanadas because it's so different from the ones I get in Davao (which are doughy and mostly factory-made). The ones in Ilocos just felt more authentic and a wonderful experience.

    Di ko po alam step by step na pagluluto ng empanada kaya thanks for making this video. Pansin ko lang po sa Vigan, nangingibabaw yung lasa ng Vigan Longganisa sa loob. Ginisa po siguro nila yung mga gulay (repolyo at papaya) kasama ng longganisang Vigan. Di ko talaga makakalimutan lasa nung kumain kami ron 👌.

    One of the things I give focus in making empada or even when i just buy empanadas for take out is the crust. I like that ur crust is thin enough to look that crisp but also thick enough to hold that stuffing. Just the way I like it. Left u a gift. Hope u can lounge soon at my kitchen.

      This is not vigan empanada, there is no mong beans in vigan empanada. Maybe this is Ilocos Norte's.

    Hi there, do you know if you can freeze these empanadas in advance (when the dough is still raw/not cooked)? and then, thaw it out to fry when needed? I will try it, but was curious to know if you have done so before and if it still tastes the same and doesn't lose it's texture.

      hi.. I am overseas.. currently in Canada, i got mine from asian stores. If you really cant find any at your location , i suggest to just use ground pork instead, just sautee it and add a lot of garlic and pepper powder, then salt to taste. goodluck! :)

    Naka ilang try na gumawa ng dough always fail 😪 pero gustong gusto ko talaga gawin fav kasi ng mga anak ko. 😔

      sundan nyo lang po ung instruction dito, and importante na napahiran ng oil ang dough bago iroll, pati ung kamay nyo po oil din ang plastic cover. gudluck po!

      kapalan nyo po sgro ang dough ng konti. and i-dip nyo din ang dough sa oil bago i roll... (yung pinag prituhan nyo mismo while mainit) para ma moist po ung dough and maging elastic, i hope this help. praktis po talaga sa una.. hanggang mabilis na po kau nakakapag mold. tsaka po wag patagalin na nakafold ang dough lalo na may egg.. mabilis po maabsorb ng dough ang egg kaya mabubutas po ito.. kaya madalas po.. one at a time ang paggawa.. pagka fold, prito agad.. :)

    Hello po ang rice flour po ba same sa glutinous rice flour? Ang alam ko lang po ksi all purpose flour saka bread flour hehehe saka ano po tawag dun s parang plastic cover para di po madikit ung dough habang nilalagyan ng palaman. Thanks po and more power

      hi po. meron po nabibiling rice flour.. sana po makakita kau.. and ung ginamit ko po plastic cover is ung plastic folder lang po yan na ginagamit sa school. icut nyo lang po sa gitna and hugasan... make sure na may oil po ang plastic cover and ung mismong dough may oil din para d dumikit. :)

      i never tried. maiiba po kasi ang texture ng dough. sana po itry nyo ang rice flour para ma enjoy nyo po ung totoong ilocos empanada :)

    In Ilocos particularly in Batac, we cook the fillings the different way (the original way) to achieve a yummy empanada.
