I used to do this 1x each year, spring cleaning. The feeling you have when you wake up the next morning is unbelievable. You even feel lighter.
I try doing this 2x a year, clean walls and all my windows, your right, it is a "great feeling"
Definitely more than once a year
Thanks for going right to the point, other videos are all blah blah blah 😴 like wth
"...but before we actually talka about something relevant, could you smash that like button", et al. 🙄Not here! 😃👍🏻
Solution=
-1/2 cup of baking soda
-2 liters(or 8 cups of water)
If you use carbonated water it makes a fun reaction that can save some elbow grease.
Does it streak?
Does adding vinegar instead of baking soda help?
Great idea!! Yes-- odors seep into the wall-- smoke, cooking odors, pets, and old perfume! This cleaning is great. Thanks!
I had all the right tools but never put them to full use until this. After an hour I have half my house done. Was it ever needed. Those "phantom" smells that you smell every so often but don't know where they come from, well it was my walls! I did add some febreze and went around with a magic eraser for some of the buffs that wouldn't wipe off. My house looks like it's just been freshly painted and it's nice and bright again. I can see the sunlight reflect from my walls again. This is so easy too, a nice workout to boot and I'm so happy I found this cleaning tip!
Always start by never using matt paint, use something with a little more slip like satin. Especially if you have kids.
Wow I breathed better just watching this.. I’m doing my home next week ❤
Cheap, non toxic and no scent. Marvelous. Im trying this really soon
Thank you😊
Yup, just make sure it’s aluminum free baking soda.
Baking Soda is excellent for removing dirt , grime and odor... Good Share !
I had wall paint that smelled like urine (probably expired and had ammonia) and this fixed the problem!
Thanks very much
I bet people will be surprised at the real colour of their walls after this great cleaning tip.
Great tip! Thank you for not talking for 15 minutes and then give us the information. I’m subscribing!
Glad to help out 😃
Not that I clean my walls very often, but I appreciate your quick tips and will definitely use them - thanks
Wow!!! I was just telling my friend that my house smells like weed (just being honest lol) and I need to get the smell off the walls before I move out and was low key wondering if I could mop my walls. You my friend have just made my day!!!!
Did it work lol
Did it work?
you can also burn some patchouli and mint mixed incense, that would cover up the pot odor too just a piece of advice 😉
Did it Work?
@@Molly-je6qf it did! Some hot water, some fabuloso and mop made quick work of the smell. Went back like 3 days later to do the walk through and you couldn't tell I'd been smoking blunts all year in the house lol. Just a note, I have a carpet cleaner so I cleaned the carpets and that helped too. But smoke sticks to walls so I think cleaning em was the kicker.
Tried this today, and it got rid of a weird smell in our new house. We just replaced the carpet and even got new furniture and I could still smell this weird funk when walking down the stairs. Cleaned the walls and now it's gone!
I will say I was too lazy to go over everything a second time with the water-wet mop. I figured a little baking soda on the walls never hurt anyone (I can't see it or feel it) 😆
It really worked great , thank you, the house we were moving in , was a smell reactor , tried this along with keeping all windows open for few hours with fans on , it took care of 80-90% of all smells , really thanks
ouuu , i like this.. i've been in my rental unit for over 5 years now.. a deep cleaning like this one of walls, doors, and baseboards is well overdue !
ALWAYS start cleaning from the bottom of the wall and work your way up to the ceiling! That will help you avoid “streaks” on the wall 😎
thanks for the tip ✌️
What about the drip? I've always been taught top to bottom as the dirt and water will just drip.
I do just the opposite. Top to bottom.
To me it's like spray painting. Start at the top and work down. Baking soda and water shouldn't leave streaks. You catch the drips on the way down.
Bad advice lolololol
You are a hard working person, you take good care of your living space, thank you for sharing this valuable tip. God bless.
Mold hates baking soda! This is wonderful. Thank you
Sounds like a great idea… I’m just a bit worried my paint will come off the walls too
Same
Same. Lol
Don’t Soak the mop & turn on the fans to help dry & prevent seepage of the paint
I’m definitely gonna try this . I moved into a apartment yesterday and it smells bad like it’s been closed up for a while I desperately wants to get rid of the smell
Damp rids, the large size from Home Depot. Also hepa ion air purifiers (if it’s in your budget)
Otherwise cleaning the walls, leaving all the windows opened for a few hours and damp rid will eliminate the “stale” odor
Congratulations on ur apartment 🎉
Thank you very much for this video! I am going to be cleaning my walls this way from now on. 😊
This is the best video on how to clean your walls. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
I need this for my downstairs bathroom. Thank you
Great video. You get right to the point and keep it simple. Good content.
What a great tip, am definitely going to try this, someone said to start from bottom up, to prevent streaks, but I think when cleaning & removing dust, you do start from top to bottom, just my opinion. TY so much for this detailed/to the point video, do you think I can clean my floor with baking soda, I have ceramic tile on my kitchen floor?
Do a test patch behind the sofa first and rinse with plain water. I can’t help feeling you would see a residue on dark walls.
My aunt and grandma always washed the walls, my aunt once a week. My husband and I terminally cleaned operating rooms together for 7 yrs and when we do an isolation we do walls and ceiling with the flat mop.
Makes sense wow 😳 I need wash and try too
I used baking soda, vinegar & warm water works great!
Simple and effective. Thanks!
I had a broken pipe two years ago, and the house has always smelled like mildew since then. I was planning to remove the baseboards and at least 12 inches of drywall and replace it, but that will be a huge job. I’ll give this a try first.
You may also want to look into something like Kilz mold killing primer, too. I've got some myself, just waiting for a good day to paint the bathroom lol. I'd also suggest getting a HEPA air purifier/air filter, and a dehumidifier (even a tiny countertop one) - they make a huge difference.
@@theyoftheravens : Thanks for the info. I didn’t know about the Kilz mold killing primer. That’s definitely worth a try!
@@leeb.7188 no problem! Have a great day!
this is how kilz works : ua-cam.com/video/Ol4_kVTMYIo/v-deo.html
@@DoitDoit OMG! 😳
Thank you for the "how to." I've used a Swiffer & Wet pad to clean the ceiling of the bathroom and room walls. But I'm going to try your method that you've shown here. It seems it would do a better job.
This is excellent! Thank you!
Open style kitchens are the main reason to wash walls frequently.
Girl!!! Thank you for this!
I put new light bulbs in my kitchen light fixture and ohhh lord! The walls and doors were filthy! I didn’t even notice it until the brighter lights went up!
If the walls are dirty, like kitchen walls, wash them first with Mr Clean or something like that and then steam clean it. If the walls are just dusty that accumulated odors, then just vacuum them and then steam clean them. You can’t go wrong when you have a steam cleaner that cleans drapes and furniture and walls and ceilings! Steam kills germs too.
I use baking soda an apple cider an vinegar its amazing. You apply it to your walls you can scrub it a lil then let it sit for 10 minutes then go back thru with the swifter dont use the swifter liquid just get the pad wet an go back over your walls its Amazingggg
Thank you!
Won't smell vinegar?
@@Lovemusic856 Use the White household vinegar, not the salad type.
You, my friend , Amethyst B , must be very young with all your energy 😆. Please give us “older Arthritic gals” the easiest way possible that works 🤗. Thank u for ur inspiration
Thx but how much vinegar , baking soda and water do you combine ?
Very helpful! Thanks 😊
I had a flatmate that lived in my house with me for 3 months, he used perfume daily and the room where he slept stinks like his perfume. I've been cleaning and airing the room but the smell doesn't go away. I'll try this and update thanks!
Update??
@babymi28 ikr 😂. I know it works, but I'm just saying 😂
We use Clorox to clean our walls in our house. It gets rid of mold also and cleans the walls and gives a nice smell.
I saw two videos on cleaning walls my solution is using a Liberman mop you just fill it like the swiffer wet mop , but it doesn't need batteries .and it's easy to use, but I can use the swiffer dry mop with the tabs on top to clean walls .and use the wet pads. That's just me 🤔
.
This is brilliant!!
Awesome. Baking soda is pretty amazing
Great video. What exact brand is this mop and what store did you purchase it from? Brand and durability matters I’ve only found flimsy counterparts so far. Thanks.
amzn.to/3LudJdl
Thank you for the info. I need a long mop.
@@DoitDoitit’s not the same
I used to do this until, a few years ago, when it became physically hard for me to do. I loved mopping my walls and ceilings. I used to do it every 3 months.
That looks like a great idea, will try it, thanks!
Would the baking soda leave a gritty residue behind once it dries? Will this cleaning method work on any kind of paint? Thank you for the tips.
great idea! thank you for the help
Essential ois in a diffuser is lovely. I love Bergamot. Not sure if it is safe for pets though ..at least its not using chemicals
Where do you buy essential Oils?
Use lavender oil I calms pets
@@patburton837at your local market or online. Buy only Pure Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils.
Citrus 🍊 is Great for cleaning (Orange, lemon, Bergamot, Tangerine), as are oregano, tea tree, etc
Add to mop water. Put in spray bottle with water and alcohol for natural febreeze alternative!
I'm gonna Do It Do It!!! 😂😅 Thank You!! ❤❤❤
Great idea 😊 thks!
Great budget friendly hack 🌟💜
Great video.
I use Mr Clean fresh smell
GREAT IDEA 💡- love this video
I love this ❤will this cause water damage to walls? I’m so paranoid about that
It shouldn't, unless you have a water leak between your walls such as in a bathroom or laundry room, it'll be fine.
The paint will have streaks and may even come off
Omg are you stoned 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
How often do you clean the walls ? I’ve never done this before but now I would like to know what is normal ?
Would you please tell me what brand that mop is? I would like the removable washable style.
Great idea. Thanks for the tip👍🏾
I just moved and the previous owners must have cats/dogs and I can’t get the smell of animal out…I’ll be doing this tonight!
if the floor is carpet - make sure to wash it a few times
thank you so much! just what i needed
Glad it helped!
I got a little candle soot high on wall … I need to get it off I need that tool too
Straight forward
God bless 🙏, you 🎉
What brand of mop are you using?
Did you know that baking soda can used for the armpit instead of a deo roll? It’s aluminum free and the smell goes away instantly!
Thank you!
PS: I love your accent
❤❤️❤️❤️
Not sure if you guys gives a damn but if you are bored like me atm then you can watch pretty much all of the new movies and series on instaflixxer. Have been watching with my brother for the last couple of months :)
@Keenan Cristian definitely, I've been watching on instaflixxer for years myself =)
What type of mop do you use?
I will try this, makes sense!
thank you for this video! where did you get that brush with the stick to clean the wall?
Thank you 🌹
Thank you!!
Thank you luv. I’m watching 10/18/23
Nice its nice video I am going to show my mom
Or you could clean the walls....
Does this just work on smooth walls or would it work on textured walls?
Thanks for sharing ❤
Glad to help out 😃
My walls have matte paint 😩it wont glide
Thank you!!!
Use watered down ammonia, baking soda leaves a film
Baking soda leaves grit behind. Maybe I will try salt water instead.
Where do you get the mop? I like the cover it seems to hold itself in place. Looking forward to hearing back from you.
I got one similar to that in Ikea, part of a cleaning package
Unfortunately I have flat paint....can't really put moisture on it
What kind of mop/duster is that?
Does it remove a heavy curry smell from years of cooking it in the house?????????
You can add some ORIGINAL pinesol, the brown one. It’s a deodorizer. That will help combat the heavy odors from your house. Hope this helps!
Is this removes ink marks on walls,my baby completely spoil the walls😢
Does it work on perfumes, incense or air freshener smells?
Will this not cause damage to paint on walls? We have concrete walls with cement plaster & putty and paint over it
Not if you have a decent quality paint on the walls. It's actually water resistant. Ceilings are another story. Some contractors use a very cheap, thin paint on ceilings. Test a small area first.
Is the print on the wall at the 1 minute 18 second mark mounted on foam core board and is it mounted on the wall with command strips?
Does this keep the weed smell away for ever? Do you need keep doing once in awhile? I like this idea out of all the ones I have seen. Nice job. Will let you know.
Yes doing it only once will keep the weed smell forever away. You will never have to worry about that ever again. I hope you can sense my sarcasm
this is how I clean my walls! with disinfectant 😊
Thank you
I'm so over that baking soda or vinegar cleans everything. It's doesn't.
Do you take down the artwork and clean the walls from time to time?
Where can i buy that wall mop?
Your cleaning up the bottom. what about cleaning up the ceiling? our kitchen ceiling has grease from cooking and has built up . what type of mop can a person use to clean a high ceiling?
You would need a degreaser
I usually add a tab bit of fabric softener
Thanks!
Thank you
will u do it to my house pls 😁
