Thanks for the review. The cabin crew lady seemed really lovely. The food looks fantastic for an airline meal. Was wondering if I should spend my Virgin Atlantic points on the Air France Business Class ticket from LHR to Lima, Peru. All in all, I think I will (as long as I can get the reward flight for the date I want, that is!)
I switched to A.F./KLM for my regular long haul back in 2022. Yes they use the old Business class product, however considering the very competitive price I’ve no complaints at all. Service, comfort, food all excellent (so far).
Good that there are still people who suffer the inhumane ordeal of flying 'outdated' business class, so that others don't have to.... We salute your altruism, sir....
I flew AF J 3 times this year - all these times on 777-200 and 777-300s. I am not exactly happy with this hard product - it was great and advanced for the times it was designed, and that's what keeps it still more or less competitive. But - once white leather behind the seats was grayish, the plastic around the surfaces was peeling, tray table was hardly horizontal. The cabin is clearly overdue for upgrades. Food and crews however were amazing and above and beyond.
Thanks for an excellent report! This seat is still much more spacious than AF’s first batch of A350s and the tight Optima seat, or the 2-2-2 config on A330s… Of course the new 777 one is much more modern but kept the same herringbone config which is to me the best and most spacious business configuration. Glad you enjoyed the food and service which are generally pretty good and above the European competition.
I will be flying CDG - SJO - CDG in April. Do you know how I can find out whether I will have the new or the old cabin? CDG-SJO will be an A350-900 (so I guess this will be the old one) and SJO-CDG will be a 777-200.
How do you know which aircraft/seating you will get? I recently booked the new business class but had a aircraft change to the A350 - 900, however still labels them as suites. I noticed some new UA-cam videos with the new business class on A350. How do I know if the A350 I'm on will have the latest business class seat upgrade.
Will these seats be updated? When I try to book a YUL/CDG flight on the 777-2, the AF website advertises a new business class seat. Wondering if it’s only on the 777-3 and the website is just wrong
I think the website is wrong. I booked IAD/CDG it also advertised the new seats. All of the flights out of IAD have first class and those planes do not have the new seats. I believe once they announce the new La Première seats all of the 777's will be retrofitted with the new seats.
Watching M. Ricky reminds me of that when I was in Quebec nobody understood me and I didn't understand them. I thought, man my French has gotten rusty. Then I went to France and we all understood each other. Turns out the Quebecois just don't speak French lol.
Great vid FA was very understanding thats nice, flying this plane this Saturday wanted to see what it looks like inside thanks for sharing .
I love how the octogenarian FA is featured on this video’s thumbnail!
Great succinct review! The hostess seemed so lovely too :)
Thank you! She was great!! Always so nice when they take the time to chat!

Hello, for the old business class, does it have extra room on the 1st row like the newer model ? Thank you

It's an honour

So glad you survived...just wondering what your thoughts are on Emriates 777, considering this product on AF is still a 1-2-1 reverse herringbone.
Happy to see un-blurred people in the video
I think AF now has the a350 on the YVR/ CDG route.

I’ve always enjoyed the AF business experience.

Happy to see a new video from Ricky! Any plans to do a Turkish airlines review?
Coming soon!
still better than the staggered product on A350. That one is way too small.
Try the business class in AF A330-200

It's a good vid and all, but kinda weird you don't mention where you're flying from for almost 5 minutes, I think that's really useful info

HAHA
I'd still fly it!
Yes, still a great way to get to Europe
Well - I guess. Even an OK business is better than great economy!
Well that’s a click bait title, so it was good. What a waste of my time for a crap title.
Obviously you don’t understand the title. He was asking the question, “was it worth it in 2024” ?
