Work smarter rather than harder. 1. be aware of your own unconscious bias and limitations 2. develop self confidence by seizing the opportunities and taking risks without fear. 3. measure the outputs rather than inputs 4. stay inspired by finding yourself a strong role model 5. develop strong networks, join discussion groups 6. get comfortable in I rather than we (stay true to your values and right organization will value you for them) 7. remember strong leaders can be vulnerable 8. once you are at the top, don't forget to look after for women who are still in the pipeline 9. not to wait for external interventions but to take charge, take ownership by sitting at the design table and getting your voices heard by being the change you want to see
Thankyou for such an inspiring talk about how women can become successful leaders. I think that it is so valid to consider women's wants/desires in their career are different to men. I found it very profound when you said "Women are as ambitious as men, but they lack the confidence in the fact they can succeed". I think that if many women faced this fear or lack of confidence we would see much more equality in terms of women in leadership. Wonderful talk to reflect on.
Some challenges women face on their leadership journey: 1- Lack of self-belief; 2- Work-life balance; 3- Notion of presenteeism; 4- Gender prejudice. BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE!!! 🎉
Caring about your family probably makes you a better solicitor. We need to change the underlying narratives of the workplace and the data helps to make that happen.
