I am not Catholic, but I have had several Catholic UA-camrs tell me that only the Catholic Church can correctly and authoritatively interpret the Bible. I have recent read the 14th chapter of the Book of Zechariah. Has the Catholic Church interpreted/explained it?

What you heard is told and explained in the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) which I can't unfortunately copy and paste anything from the little laptop I'm typing with right now.
However, I would rather say it doesn't work that way, and I wouldn't endorse it when a question is based on only one detail taken out from the whole. I prefer the other way around, as also writing of the Church do, i.e. "from the whole to the detail".
If you check the Vatican sites you can review both older and new documents on "The Interpretation of Scriptures in the Catholic Church." Does this help and makes sense to you?

@@therealong I will look at the Catechism, and for Vatican sites on the subject. Thanks.

My pleasure Ralf. Otherwise, you know, for any specific question you can always call CA directly during their two-hours live show, or even write to them, or search for any detailed answer. Also learning from viewers' questions could be useful to articulate your question better, according to what really is you're trying to know. An experienced guide through a universe of questions and answers would certainly be rather useful.
      Have a good journey! 😇

Jimmy, with the Hitler time travel answer, are you essentially saying that killing baby Hitler would instantly create two different versions of him? One who went to Heaven as a baby in timeline 1 and one who went to hell as an adult in timeline 2? I feel like this would imply that there is a Heaven and hell for each dimension to account for this. Otherwise, when the Resurrection of the Body happens, Hitler would have to get one body back in Heaven and another one in hell, rather than turning back into a single body/soul hybrid. And then let's say that baby Hitler becomes a canonized Saint who people ask for the intercession of. How could they be sure they're not mistakenly asking for the intercession of anti-saint Hitler? This, along with many other things, leads me to believe that God has made backwards time travel impossible in our reality. I can't imagine God would allow any human to have that kind of power, especially after the Fall.

Jimmy Akin is brilliant. However, he is also overly pedantic and is a victim of "paralysis by analysis."
He can't give a simple answer for anything. He's smart and he knows it. Nevertheless, as smart as he is, (or is perceived to be), he misses on things outside of Theology. For example, in today's program, he missed on radio's so-called inventor: Guglielmo Marconi. The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that NIKOLA TESLA is the "Father of Radio," (not Marconi). Look it up, Jimmy.
He should be ashamed of himself, with his esoteric explanation of Our Blessed Mother's Visitation at Fatima, Portugal.
Yes, he is smarter than you. So, give me the humble and down-to-Earth, Joe Heschmeyer, any time.
Cy Kellet, is a sub-standard and a not so brilliant host. Catholic Answers is over-paying him. He doesn't have the mental acuity and is too deferential, to challenge, Apologist Aiken. PATRICK COFFIN, please come back!

      Hello Arthur,
I totally agree with you about Jimmy Akin.
He has an amazing way of mastering so many subject's.
Though I don't remember him ever saying that he was infallible.
Also, I don't think a differing opinion should make him, or anyone else feel ashamed.
Also, I personally think that Cy Kellet is the best host that Catholic Answers has ever had.
He is a lot smarter then he let's on.
Unlike Patrick Coffin, he let's the apologist answer the questions without having to upstage them.
As far as Joe Heshmeyer, he has been a wonderful addition to Catholic Answers.
Catholic Answers does amazing work and have brought many people home to our Lord's Church.
All the members of Catholic Answers has a way of including the audience and a friendship is formed.
This is why I feel the need to defend them.
      I did appreciate your opinion.
God bless you my friend! ⚘️

One thing Jimmy Akin does in every situation is give charitable, thoughtful answer's to everyone with careful consideration not to offend. God made Jimmy to be exactly as he is, and he serves the Lord. Let us all take that example and just serve the Lord.
