Great video love to see you're out shooting w/ your dad. I have a pro-comp on .556 / AR-15 and which is also not so accurate either... I am going to see if DPMS brake woud help increase accuracy thanks very much.
I put the Miculek brake on my AR. I will say that my POI slightly changed, but a couple clicks got me right back on. This brake is AMAZING, as far as keeping your rifle on target, for quick follow up shots. It does exactly what it's designed to do. The blast is definitely louder, but I enjoy shooting fast, so it's well worth the trade off. I highly recommend the Miculek brake. I love mine!!! Oh, and after I reset my zero, I shot some 5 shot groups that were well under MOA. It for sure made my rifle more accurate.
Could be that one is longer and heavier changing the harmonica of the barrel but not to that level, thanks for video
Might be harmonic variation? If a load is made with the one brake the surefire might not be harmonically aligned with the load
Were they tuned? It may be that the one was accidentally put on at the right spot, but the other one needed tuned to adjust harmonics and vibration.
No.
No special tuning or timing was performed. Perhaps we just got lucky.
I put a Miculek on my AR 5.56. It's amazing!!!!
I've seen nothing but amazing things from the Miculek brake. I gotta have one!!!
I have this break on my AR15 best money ever spent. Even on the thin pencil barrel no barrel whip. Flat flat shooting never lose the sight picture. Best 40 bucks I ever spent.
Get some👍
The different brake changed the barrel harmonics. They need to retune the load or try different ammo. This is a false test.
Would like to see you guys use different ammunition to see if the groups tighten or change
I'd like to try that as well. When we do, I'll film it and post it up.
Thanks for the feedback!
My question how long did you allow the barrel to cool after the 1st group? Was their a cooling period between groups shot?
I didn't document the cooling period but I've got to imagine it was fairly long. We were in no hurry that day. The time that it took to change brakes and targets was probably 15-20 minutes at least. It was a fairly cool, late June, day in Maine and we were shooting in the shade. The barrel wouldn't have gotten dead cold between groups but I don't remember it being particularly hot.
Target is flapping in the wind during the second string.
Yeah, but he's shooting the one that isn't flapping
Damn...maybe I should have gotten a Miculek... got the Procomp. I will see what it does. My rifle does damn good without a break I just want a recoil reduction.
I'd be interested to hear your results if you get a chance to try both. I think the Procomp is great. Just didn't work as well as the Miculek on our rifle.
Very nice. I have a Steyr SSG as well. Where did you get the barrel threaded?
I wish to add a brake it .
This one came with the barrel threaded. It's one of the last produced.
Thanks for watching!
Good shot :)
