Fair warning, you better not watch the anime (or manga) because I feel like it will suck you in and you will not be able to escape, you'll fall deeply in love with the characters and the world and it will consuuuume you, body and soul, it will ruin you... in a good way😇 SO stay away. @27:00 Totally relate to it. I usually don't cry, but one piece always makes me cry... And that's one piece... Its great. And I, who once thought it's not for me, it's too long, it looks too cartoony, is now fully deeply invested in it once I gave ot a shot and couldn't stop myself from getting caught up, experiencing the story and then wanting more, ending up re-experiencing the story again and again through reactions, reviews, podcasts, discussions, analysis videos etc about one piece... It will be one of the greatest stories ever told when it ends.
As every one piece fan, I love the journey, characters, world, plots, mysteries, etc, and I want it to continue and not end, but at the same time I seriously want to experience the catharsis when this grand story ends... This dichotomy, of both wanting to badly see the conclusion of one piece story and also wanting it to never end ... especially now in 2023-24, when the story has entered its final saga, and is in its final stretch of concluding, where the hints if it's end game are in sight over the horizon, it's both exciting and scary at the same time.
@18:45 Nami didn't give Arlong ideas to kill luffy. Arlong about to bite off Luffy's head which is certain death. Nami cleverly gave him an alternative to throw him in the sea so that Luffy will have a better chance to survive, while acting to be cold infront of Arlong.
Because even though she is part of the Arlong's crew, she started caring about the Strawhat gang.. and that's foreshadowed when she was trying to stop zoro from fighting Mihawk to protect him, saying that "he is her friend" in the previous episode.

During a big storm, an ocean's tide can rise significantly, in real life and especially in the Grand Line in this show. That's how they got on that little island. The ocean was simply above it and went down when the storm cleared
They don't say it in the show, but Sanji will ONLY fight using his legs and Kicks. He will never use his hands to fight or even block. He will block attacks with his leg, cuz he says. "My hands r ONLY used for cooking." It's a lesson Zeff taught Sanji during the years at the Baratie. "A cooks' most important tools are his hands, and u must protect them at all cost." So when Sanji fights u will notice that as he fights he will have his hands in his pocket
I'm watching this four months later but if it hadn't already been said, the kid that plays little Sanji also plays Sweet Tooth. Love your reactions!

One piece is at its peak when it has you in your feels. And it is unreal how quickly and easily Oda will get you there. And believe it or not, the anime does it 10x better than the live action.
All that being said, if you're really enjoying the series, don't hold back the tears. Don't try to control those emotions. If you do, you're doing yourself a disservice.

Try to imagine a stormy, hectic night or day with looming clouds, pouring rain, and gusts of wind. These conditions can last for hours on end. By observing the shape of the 'island rock' they're stuck on, you can surmise how it happened based on the information I just gave you.
20 ft waves on the ocean is a light day, it's when they get to 80 -100+ is what they were dealing with. And those conditions can last for days.
Christian Convery, who plays the young Sanji, has the main role of the series Sweet Tooth. The story of an hybrid half-human half-deer who searches his mother in a postapocalyptic world where the humans think the hybrids are responsible of the civilization’s collapse. A good show.

Some races in One Piece have special powers. Merfolk can talk to fish and manipulate water. Despite how they look, they are the same species as the other humans. They a just a different race.
Black people are in One Piece, but people like Usopp functionally have white privilege in that world. The Fishmen represent black people. I'm sure you know that by now, after watching episode 7.
The many subtle and overt ways Oda writes racism. It's interesting to think about. There's literally a character late into the story that if you pay attention to her part of that season(s) you can tell Oda was trying to show you exactly why racism is bad. Her story is probably the most literal reason racism and bigotry period is bad. It's really interesting.

The other arcs later are mostly about class systems and capitalism.
Even if angry at Nami for betraying the crew, we can still thank her for giving us shirtless Sanji😂😂😂

If you ever should decide to dive into the world of 'One Piece' - this won't mean anything for several hundred episodes, but one thing you need to remember about Arlong....he won't harm a fellow fishman.
As we saw from the scene with the fishman Maitre'D at the Baratie - Arlong could barely hide his contempt for a fishman who would willingly work for humans, but he didn't attack him.
