The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fátima ( or “Santuário de Nossa Senhora De Fátima” in Portuguese) is located in the small city of Fátima - Portugal. To give some perspective, it's roughly 1h30min north of Lisbon.
According to tradition, the Virgin Mary appeared to three young pastors on six occasions in 1917. The first was May 13. (13 de Maio).
This is a video made during our trip to Fatima - Portugal, in a day trip back in October 2019.
❤️🙏 For some people, it can be an emotional experience to visit Fatima. This was the case for Lia of Discovering Destinations. It was a very special and emotional day that brought her great memories from her childhood.

I was there last year August 2022. Beautiful!. . . From Lisbon I had a bus ride of 1 hour and 20 minutes to Fatima, attended the living rosary in different languages at 9:00 p.m. then after I joined the procession of our Lady of Fatima that lasted up to 11:00 almost midnight. The following day I visited the houses of the three shepherds; Lucia, Jacinta, and Francisco. Traveled back to Lisbon, again by bus and visited the Monasterio de San Geronimo and the Belem Tower.

On your trip to see Fatima did you go during the week and what time of the day? There was not many people there I would love to take photos around the area and less people would be great. Love the video we are going next month for a couple of days layover really happy we get the opportunity to see Fatima.
Hello @robertmanzo6994, thanks for your message. We didn't have access to our emails lately which is why we were slow to respond. From memory we visited on a Thursday mid-day, it wasn't super busy. We would imagine it being much busier during the weekend.
There was a museum that we missed visiting because they had scheduled times and we had another appointment.

We visited in October and felt the temperature was fine, warm even as you could see from the video. January should be nice because fewer tourists visit, however it may be on the cold side. All depending what kind of winter you're usually used to. We saw vlogs from people visiting Lisbon in January and they had light jackets on - so we're actually curious to hear back from you and your trip in January !

How far is the place where fatima appeared to the 3 children?

The place Nossa Senhora de Fátima appeared to the 3 children is called "Capelinha das Aparições" or "Chapel of the Apparitions" in English, and it's located in the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima, we showed it in this part of the video - ua-cam.com/video/Q1Wt2S3VlhQ/v-deo.htmlsi=0t0C-tlyU6l_zbnK&t=375. When you get to the Sanctuary, you will see the Main Church and just outside you already see the Chapel where usually lots of people are praying the Rosary. It's 3 minutes walking distance from the Basica. You can also get further information in the Oficial Website of the Sancturary - www.fatima.pt/en/pages/places-of-the-apparitions. We went to Fátima in 2019, and when inside of the church we filmed part of the Masses board that you can check it out in the minute 2.48 starting here - ua-cam.com/video/Q1Wt2S3VlhQ/v-deo.html - This board shows that are masses starting 07h30 - 09h00 - 11h00 etc. However we believe that is better to check their Oficial website with the current masses date&time - we will leave the link for you here www.fatima.pt/en/schedule/category/mass - We hope you have an amazing trip if you didn't travel yet and best wishes for you! 😊🙏🏻

Hi, is parking easy in Fatima?
Hello Vanessa, thanks for your comment. When we visited the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fátima in October 2019, we saw the Sanctuary has their own parking lot. It was free for our 'October' visit and there were lots of free parking spots to choose. However we are not sure about the remainder of the year. Also, it looks like the place can be packed during Summer time and weekends. You can also check out Blog out where we can have few more tips from Fátima.
