You would think that pools would heat up easily in the hot desert sun. What actually happens is evaporative cooling because the air is so dry. The energy from the sun warms the water particles and causes the warmest particle to evaporate taking the energy they absorbed with it, leaving behind cooler particles. In wet climates, fewer particles are able to be absorbed into the air and therefore allowing the energy absorbed to warm the pool. Also, because water has a higher specific heat capacity than air, it is able to absorb more heat from your body making it feel cooler than it actually is.
This kaki green is a neutral color to refleck what little color is in the desert(cactus and Joshua trees). The other colors are also a reflection of the desert. Very neutral palette. Beautiful.
the outside shower is for before the pool if you like or after the pool to wash off quite common here in California and the price is reasonable also especially for a family and friends...
Fantastic place … would love to stay there .. though I agree with you about the bedding . Not the most inviting or freshest looking bed ! Thanks for sharing
I love Joshua Tree National Park! I used to go hiking there with my friends when I was stationed at the Marine Corps. base in Twentynine Palms right down route 62. People love stargazing at night. No light pollution. It's also very close to Palm Springs!
Your videos are always so beautifully shot and edited! Love the new breakdown of the cost at the end! You should keep that for future videos. Also, keep up the person counting for the showers! I look forward to it in every video!!! This one definitely would be a party shower!!!
My parents owns an AirBnB which I stayed at. It's nice. Really nice. Many AirBnbs are nicer than a lot of hotel suites, IMO. Looks like a great place for families on vacay or for a group of friends to chill in for a weekend or maybe even a week or two.
This one really made me laugh…you getting out of the hammock, you saying you almost burnt your face off lighting the fire and then when you tried to grind the coffee and the kettle appeared 😂😂😂 The place looked wonderful. Great video as always Tim.
Seeing the damage that Airbnb/second home ownership is doing to areas of Scotland and Cornwall, not a fan of this but I suppose you've got to try it at least once.
That place looks amazing. So remote, I could imagine going there with some friends for a long weekend with board games and a few glasses of wine. Thank you Tim
Love Airb&b some lovely properties on there! I had a 7 night holiday for the price of 4 nights with my whole family because the owners (who lived next door) were away and preferred we stay the whole week 😅 we had a blast!
That place looks amazing, i love the quiet and deserts so would probably love it there. But using the outdoor shower naked near the cacti would make nervous lol.
I’ve only stay at an Airbnb once as a reunion with kids and grandkids. It was a great experience except for the price. You can, from just my experience looking for places, expect to pay double the nightly fee with all added on costs. The pro’s was that it had a pool and hot tub (separate fee to heat), full kitchen and with kids they had plenty of space to play without worrying a lot about disturbing people. You just have to weigh your pros and cons. Everyone have a very lovely weekend. Cheers 🥂
We stay in Airbnb a lot in the uk and it pretty much always works out cheaper than 2 rooms in a hotel - add to that the privacy and convenience of a full kitchen etc it is hard to beat. Prices of course vary accoring to the quality and size but so they do with hotels. The only thing I woud say is, if you are looking to stay a week or more, see if you can find who else the same place is listed with. Usually homes in the UK are on with a local holiday company as well as Airbnb and the local company is usually at least 10% cheaper (and preferred by the owner).
@@andyjdhurley Yes definitely check other sites. The one we stayed out had a note in the “Host Book” that if you booked directly through them you get a discounted rate. I don’t know about the UK but what I’ve discovered in my research is most of the vacation rental properties (Airbnb, VRBO, etc) in the US are corporate owned. I think for family holidays or reunions they are wonderful. If I’m booking for just myself or myself and my spouse, I will spend my money on a luxury hotel every time. It’s definitely personal choice and always pros versus cons with anything you choose. Thank you so much for your reply. It’s so great to hear everyone’s experiences around the world. Have a wonderful weekend!
Really love this-love being away from everyone and the star gazing sounds amazing! A shower with another outdoor shower! Thats a first 😂 Not a bad price considering, thanks Tim
I love Joshua Tree, the first time I went there we spent a night in that motel where U2 lived when recording their Joshua Tree album and we also visited 29 Palms. The second time was different: I just fell in love (with the guy I'm now with since 20 years) and a month after that I had to go to the US to travel around with a friend, as I booked that trip months before. We drove through Joshua Tree and I kept trying to get online to text my lover- to no avail, no internet reception. This was in 2005, a long time before Starlink. My friend was not amused. Fun times!
Earl grey and milk is my favourite drink. Shame you couldn’t get the coffee grinder sorted. Joshua Tree NP looks incredible and I’d love the quiet though as a woman on my own I’d be terrified! 😊
Absolutely stunning location and locale. Could spend a year exploring the high desert and star gazing. Did you see Rancho de la Luna on your travels? Famous, in small circles, for its Desert Rock music scene.
Wow what a place Tim ! Would love to explore that neck of the woods one day - that American desert scenery always reminds me of the film ‘Duel’ from back in the day ..Not sure I would be good on my own out there - I’m fine until the sun goes down then my imagination goes wild ! Loving your morning attire btw - cap looks ace 👌🏻😊
This looks great Tim... I live very close and would love to take my wife on a weekend getaway. Even meet up with our BFF couple for a great little vacay.
A 60s popstar Gram Parsons died in a hotel here of an overdose. And his body & coffin was hijacked by friends who took it into the desert to cremate it (with mixed results, it was harder than they thought). Sorry if this is covered in the video - I'm shooting my mouth off before actually watching, cos I'm saving this and Barbie for my entertainment viewing tonight. I love these vids.
When talking about the Earl Grey tea if you actually look on the box, it does say you can add milk and sweeten it with honey. For those who don’t like people using milk in their tea. Even the manufacturer says you can use milk in it and that it’s a good addition. So it’s a matter of personal preference.I personally fix my ear gray with sugar milk when I have it and when I don’t, it tastes just as good. I won’t lie. The only reason that I started to drink Earl Grey tea was because of Captain Jean-Luc Picard of Star Trek, the next generation. But I’m glad I did because it’s really good.
That was great. Would be scared if I was on my own. Agreed about the bed sheet colour should be WHITE or something crisp. Shame about the dust behind the bed and food bits in fire pit
And that very detailed brochure that he sent you. It might have been a good idea to add some instructions on how to use the coffee grinder. At least that way you could’ve had your coffee. I’ll stick with my Keurig.
Quite an Airbnb! Very nice looking modern equipped home which you could comfortably live in, so long as you could live with the isolation for the rest of your life! Another great experience that you have been able to share with us.
Reallt double check ait bnb reviews. I was hired to clean up a basement apartment...Ok. this "5 star" place was like a teenagers basement. Not enough furniture for the Mexican family who had to wait. The cutlery was worn and mismatched. When i saw this small ONE chocolate with a cheap note saying ..welcome to your 5 star experience! I didn't work for her again. Really see real pictures. But I guess a huge green grass yard would be a treat
Ha, this reminded me of a movie I watched a few days ago called "Margaux" - it's about a group of college students that do an AirBnB style rental of a McMansion sized AI-powered smart house in, what looks to be, the Pacific NW & pretty much the middle of nowhere as well....and the house turns out to be quite sinister (funny enough, the AI is voiced by the original voice of Siri, Susan Bennet)
That is what you call luxurious wouldn't fancy it on my own as long as i had someone with me. It would be fantastic i think im in love i really loved this one Tim.
Hoping to catch you while you're still in the US - Tim, are you aware of The Magic Castle Hotel in Hollywood? Staying there is basically the only way for members of the public to get an invite to The Magic Castle, a private club for professional magicians and magic enthusiasts (the only other way to attend the Magic Castle's meal and shows is to be invited by a member). The club experience is so fabulous that by itself it would be a great reason to visit the hotel, but the hotel has STUNNINGLY amazing guest services, and I say that as someone who worked for 20 years in 4-star luxury boutique hotels. If you're going to places like the Trixie, you need to visit the Magic Castle Hotel and the club the next time you're in LA. Or maybe even extend this current trip...the MCH is a truly amazing mix of basic building amenities in a classic Hollywood apartment complex with services and freebies NO ONE offers, anywhere. Plus of course a night in the Magic Castle is an amazing LA experience.
0:16 I was half expecting John Wayne on a horse with his six-shooter to appear.

Thanks for the info
They put the cushions down like that because it gets really windy at times in the desert.
Yeah those cushions would turn into tumbleweeds if they were not secured 🙃
Yes you are correct
I imagine those hammocks are for star gazing
My only complaint with this video is, I wanted it to be longer. Still love it tho!
me too
I agree with this 100%. Longer for this one would have really been magnificent!
Greetings from Florida! Survived a hurricane and now I'm walking with Tim 😎 Not very rainy where this video was filmed, haha
That looked crazy i thought we had rough storms in Ireland yikes
Hopefully all OK?
That's true desert living there. I'd love to go on a trip like that, what an adventure. Thanks for taking us along 👍

I would be freaked out staying on my own in the 🏜️
Great video Tim
You could have quite a party with those showers, Tim! 😂
The sky was stunning. I could have watched 5 straight minutes of that! 😍
Looks amazing. And remote. My greatest fear would be ending up as the victim source material for an episode of "Criminal Minds" with nobody around. 😂
Most bodies found in the desert were transported there from a city.
Oh come on its U2 fan paradise.
Fantastic place … would love to stay there .. though I agree with you about the bedding . Not the most inviting or freshest looking bed ! Thanks for sharing
You should've eaten off the food truck Tim. Great video and beautiful place
Great video as always! Love it when you make it to America, can't wait to see where you go next!
Oh, the gorgeous 'Solitude' ❤
Oooo tim capper tea in isolation 🫥 😅 and to relax unwind , b4 going 🏡 home.😊
I put milk in my earl grey also...very nice AB&B..thanks for the great video
Tim.
I like it
Oh no!never go barefoot in the desert! scorpions! We live in the desert and we don’t even wear flip flops in the dark.
I hope you didn't forget to bring a good S. King movie to watch overnight 😅 Greetinga from the Netherlands.
Great experience being alone there Tim . The place looks fabulous.
Eight minutes in and can’t stop thinking about snakes - clearly you shouldn’t keep doors open for them to slither in 🐍🗣️
Yeah same. Having spent time in Cali/desert - snakes, scorpions, black widows and brown recluse. Never would my doors remain open. LOL
I love Joshua Tree National Park! I used to go hiking there with my friends when I was stationed at the Marine Corps. base in Twentynine Palms right down route 62. People love stargazing at night. No light pollution. It's also very close to Palm Springs!
Wow
I'd be terrified of being the content of a new horror movie if I stayed here, remote places in the States...nah I'm good 😂
Brilliant vlog Tim 👏🏻now that’s what you call getting away from it All!!
I live vicariously through these reviews, haven't had a holiday in years. Stay safe on your travels Tim, with that Hurricane Milton.
Thank you
Your videos are always so beautifully shot and edited! Love the new breakdown of the cost at the end! You should keep that for future videos.

It was a very good usa travel day blog today chilling out and relaxing staying in airbnb motel for the usa holiday vibes tim
Can hear you struggling with flu in video. Glad you’re okay now, can’t of been easy filming feeling so rough
Thanks Danny
This one really made me laugh…you getting out of the hammock, you saying you almost burnt your face off lighting the fire and then when you tried to grind the coffee and the kettle appeared 😂😂😂 The place looked wonderful. Great video as always Tim.
Oh, wow! Tim, this is awesome!!! I can’t wait to see this one, as with all all your videos!
Thanks so much!
Now this looks amazing Tim
Thanks for the video Tim. You’re a gem! Though desert’s aren’t my cup of tea.
Definitely check out the tree house at moonacre glamping in Sturminster Marshall, Dorset. Its an orb that hangs from a tree. Beautiful area.
Seeing the damage that Airbnb/second home ownership is doing to areas of Scotland and Cornwall, not a fan of this but I suppose you've got to try it at least once.
This is a different circumstance
That place looks amazing. So remote, I could imagine going there with some friends for a long weekend with board games and a few glasses of wine. Thank you Tim
Totally!
what a place that is
Pioneertown is one of my favorite places to stay.
Very interesting vlog thanks Tim

I love milk in my tea ☕😃
you can rent Käärijä's apartment on AirBnB (yes, that Käärija from Eurovision)
good to know their corner shop giving the same UK cornershop vibe
Lol
Looks good i hope you found what you was looking for haha i had to do a U2 song 😊☺️
What a great location , skies must be amazing with no light pollution and that shower area, what do you choose in or out .
Great video Tim 😊
Really love this-love being away from everyone and the star gazing sounds amazing! A shower with another outdoor shower! Thats a first 😂 Not a bad price considering, thanks Tim

I know was gutted , wanted to try the coffee
Looked great
You. Never. Give. Mooring. Fed. Keep on. Like channel. . head pains.
This is an impressive airb&b. I live about 45 minutes from there
Your videos are so interesting…great job!!!
Thank you very much!

Thanks, Tim for another great vid :) It is a nice place. After living in the desert (Texas) for about 5 years I have had my full of it LOL

No thankfully not
This video got me Breaking Bad vibes😊
Lol
Someone should make a super cut of Tim saying how many people can fit in the showers 😂
Tim I put milk in earl grey too.
Can you imagine being in a strange place, isolated out in the desert, alone, naked in the shower, and the lights go out. 😂😂😂
