As a modeller in the UK that's always looking for inspiration re' inexpensive yet creative solutions, this's brilliant 😌👌 . I'll definitely be attempting something similar for OO & O scales 🙂 .
I sick of the high price products out on the market I been watching ways to save money on my lay out. ours may not came from a kit but you did not pay through the nose for it good job.
It is all out of control now. The rip off prices of DCC-ready trains has been cascaded onto DC trains in the second hand market. The hobby is getting out of reach of ordinary people due to a certain boomer demographic with deep pockets who want o pay a king's random for passenger vehicles with full underfloor details no one can see. It is a self-destructive element of elitism who're not really driven by love of model trains.
I just bought the drawings for a similar bridge, and bought a big sheet fot styrene, just started an just dicovered that aliexpress sells secondari plastic sructures that complement any project, and very cheal also. Great work!
Late to the party but thank you for sharing. Great idea and more importantly, a great ethos towards the hobby. The prices are just crazy. Now I'm off to find some popsicle sticks!
Thank you for the great explanation Conor McGregor 😂 For real, thank you very much. In India, we have a festival called Dusshera, in October every year, in which we make some decorative cities/ landscapes. I was searching for a good looking bridge, but also easy to make. Landed on the right video. Thanks again!
Wow that’s pretty awesome bridge on a budget my name is Nathan I like to make stuff i scratch build locomotives out of soda cans and and you did an awesome job on that bridge and have an awesome day
This is basically my Filosophy: use the stuff I can get to make things that look nice, more than absolutely realistic! 👍😉👍 I'm subscribing your channel!
Would love to chat with you.. email? Noticed your accent of course? From Ireland? If so definitely had some questions about some layout stuff. Let me know. Jim, TX
Can not we 3D print the most molecular parts and assemble those. It will result in more detailed model and would skip the costly craft store models plus 3d printer would be an one-time investment - one can build N number of models without compromising.
This is very toylike and lacking in detail not something I would want on my layout . This is more suited for something a child would do for a grade school project .

I'm going to use this for a HO layout I'm constructing right now.

So true!
Looks good man
I agree with you on the cost. I have made wooden bridges in both N and HO scales. This is a nice bridge.
Beautiful job. Would have also been great with images or vid of it being built..

Great stuff! Did you use a glue gun for most of the joints?
PVA
I would like to know one thing why wouldn't you like to win an award for this don't you take pride in the work you do. The Bridge looks great to me!

Stiring sticks from a coffee shop? Just pick up a bag of craft sticks ( I call them popcicle sticks ) from an arts and crafts store.

Your loss boyo. There's plenty of ways to modify this method to get a more realistic finish, but that wasn't his point, rather affordability is.
