As beach volleyball gets back on track, two of the greatest teams globally clash in the beautiful surroundings of Lofoten in Norway's far north, with the world's number one Anders Mol and Christian Sorum 'hosting' Latvia's Aleksandrs Samoilovs and Janis Smedins for a showcase game - a rematch of the 2018 European Beach Volleyball Championships final and a preview of the 2020 edition of the continental competition, coming up later this month. He routinely messes up names on his fivb sand broadcasts - watch a few and listen for it
The commentators audio is slightly ahead of the video. Spoils the action a few times.

I hate to see those guys lose, but the Latvians made an unbelievable game and it is also nice to see the Latvians smile on the court, stick to that ;)

Looks like Samoilovs has changed his goofy foot approach to a regular one! Maybe a corona-quarantine project or something he did earlier? :)

Samoilovs pulled off perhaps the most difficult, incredible jump set I've ever witnessed. So what if they lost the point to Smedins hitting it out. He was probably dumbfounded by how Sam cracked off two ridiculous tempo jump sets simultaneously. Outstanding, let alone the rest of the match, which was one for the ages. Oh, and that backdrop though!

Latvia was full of surprises! They definitely deserved to win this game. They were playing with so many tricks and tactics that Mol/Sorum did not expect. After the first set, I thought Vikings would try something different but they did not change game plan and kept it simple. It was just not enough against Latvians who turned every ball into a mystery as far as who is going to hit or which touch is their last. Amazing amazing game!

Guys. This isn't synced properly. The announcer is saying what happens before we see it. Really really amateurish to upload this in this state.
Coming back after a long break and playing in strong Wind made the things hard. You could see that It affected negatively their perfomance.
Can't believe Norway got dominated by the blocks. Almost everything fell in place for the Lats.

It’s so amazing that even in a rough environment like Lofoten it’s possible to play! Never thought of sand/beach and temperatures playable there (even though the wind seems quite tricky). Nicely done!

That net touch on 13:41 was outside the antenna, so no call should have been made, point for Norway but whatever.
InSaNiTy there was a touch on top of the net, within the antenna.
@@noski33 Hard to tell from these angles, I see net fold at the top as well but I can't say it's from Anders, doesn't really matter that much anyway, I just feel like the ref called it as they came down.
InSaNiTy Mol’s arm touched the tape, while the Latvian touched the net outside the antenna. You’re right, it doesn’t matter. It was a ‘fun’ tourney anyway. Cheers

if its clean its legal according to the rule book
There are no rules about receiving the first ball overhand. It’s also okay to set the ball over the net. A lot of ppl play “local” rules that don’t reflect the real FIVB rules.

Just an amazing setup, a very nice match with truly amazing scenery to complement that. Because there was no audience you could hear the athletes better. That really gave it a nice touch. You could hear them panting, grunting and talking to each other. Thoroughly enjoyed this match!

How's that he can receive a ball like this on 37:45 ??? Is it possible to receive as setting on first touch whenever you want if clean ball ?
If its a perfect pass. The ball doesn't spin too much then you can receive like that.

No, the first touch would be considered a “one touch” which doesn’t count as one of the three touches

If the block touch is not relevant and doesn’t change the direction of the ball then it is not considered as a first touch
