I have to give credits for the two commentators. they're doing a great job, it's fun listening to them. Travis, I know you are a world-class beach volleyball player yourself, but you manage to comment like a fan sometimes. I love that! Good Gracious! Brasil have no block strategy... the tall guy is only blocking line as he s so high (and he s very good)... the partner protects the cross line... NOR have noticed... BRA tried a few times to change but technically we see that BRA has no other block strategy.
I think the opposite. I think Brazil's blocking strategy worked because they didn't allow Solum to hit a single strong shot. Moreover, they prevented him from hitting a cross spike. Solum, whose spike was blocked early on, had no choice but to hit the ball near the line. I think Brazil's loss was due to a lack of ingenuity on the part of the receivers and a low side-out rate.
