The name of Raffaele Calace ties in with a very long tradition of luthiers and musicians, which has been going on for six generations. Lute manufacturing is infact still working today, and, without interruption, since 1825, in the workshop located in S. Domenico Maggiore Square in Naples, not far from Palazzo S. Severo. This lute manufacturing workshop can be considered, without any doubt, the oldest in the world. The video shows historical instruments of the private family collection. Particularly valuable is the mandolin belonged to his daughter Maria and the lute belonged to the same Raffaele Calace, undoubtedly unique instruments for their prestige and craftsmanship.

Il nome di Raffaele Calace va ad innestarsi in una lunghissima tradizione di liutai e musicisti, che va avanti da sei generazioni. La liuteria è infatti attiva ancora oggi, ed ininterrottamente, dal 1825, nel laboratorio di Piazza S. Domenico Maggiore di Napoli, presso il Palazzo Sansevero. La loro, secondo indagini storiche, può considerarsi senza dubbio la bottega liutaria più longeva di tutto il mondo. Per il video sono stati utilizzati strumenti storici della collezione privata della famiglia. Di particolare valore sono il mandolino appartenuto a sua figlia Maria ed il liuto appartenuto allo stesso Raffaele Calace, senza dubbio strumenti unici nel loro genere per prestigio e fattura.
