Hello, great video! It's good to see more and more people promoting balanced light and heat sources. My only correction is about your explanation of advantages of tungsten filament lamps over ceramic heat emitters- while they do contain small amounts of UVA, their main appeal is a big amount of IRA. That's also why they're better than ceramic heaters that provide UVC which is far less effective (read:not at all) for deep tissue heating. I took note of your substrate mix, I'll be trying that in the future! All that being said, I'd like to ask for your experience and advice for appropriate Jungle Dawn fixture length for a 130cm vivarium (60 height). Does an undimmed 57cm fixture, installed from the very beginning of one side, provide some full shade at the other end? Or would you recommend going for a size smaller at 47cm fixture? These lights aren't available in my country so I'll have to order them from abroad and I don't really have a chance to test their illuminating power on my own. Hope you can help, thank you in advance
Hello, thank you for sharing your comment 😊 and thank you for this information! I shall keep this in mind for future content it's definitely something which I can add in to future videos when talking about these bulbs ! 💡 I'm really pleased to hear you'll be giving this substrate mix a go ! You'll have to let us know how you get on with this mix !! I've had great success with the mix, so it'll be nice to know how other people get on with it ! 😊 Now, regarding your question to do with the jungle Dawn sizing, for your size enclosure, yes the 34w (57cm) will still provide a dark area on the opposite side of the enclosure, when installed at the beginning of 1 side of the enclosure, however if you want it to be even darker on that side of the enclosure then I'd recommend going for the smaller size (22w 47cm) because this will provide that extra bit of darkness. It's just down to personal preference, really... I have just tested this out for both size kits in an enclosure for you, and the smaller one does make it that extra bit darker, I have also taken a small video of this, so if you wanted to see this video your more than welcome to message me via our Facebook / Instagram pages and I'd be more than happy to send this video across to you so you can actually physically see the difference in light output before making a decision on which size you would want to buy :) I hope this is helpful to you ! And I hope you will continue to watch our future videos !! 🥳✌️
@@coopzreptiles Thank you kindly for such an in-depth answer and going on to try it out as well. It's really appreciated! I'll message you on Instagram as soon as I remember my login haha. I'm glad I could help even if a little! I find that people are more open to advancing their husbandry when they understand exactly why changing ways things are done can help their animals live more enriched and healthier life. Props for you for being a shop owner and doing educational content as well. I've watched your other guides too, great videos just as this one. Your tegu from frog legs video is a lovely little (big) fellow!
