This is as good a place as any to say this: This was Eric Liddell’s favorite hymn. I want to hear it sung in it’s entirety. No crafty camera work or self promotion. No talking, no elaborate bridges to make your musicians shine, no arrangements that sacrifice the hymn for “artistry”. No breathtaking cinematography. Just the entire hymn, as it was, with more than a mere 3 verses.
that is absolutely not true about contemporary disciples of Jesus and their music... this idea that old= good | contemporary = godless only reflects ignorance about: 1. the depth of music produced by contemporary disciples of Jesus *_today_* 2. the fact that, these godly hymns of old surfaced like cream over a time during which there was just as much ungodly and doctrinally unsound music produced as there is today. Just because you are not familiar with Godly contemporary music today does not mean it does not exist and your comment casting shade at real disciples of Jesus out there making excellent music, is just a bad look.
Hi, how wonderful that people in different parts of the world can have fellowship through these "technical venues" My wife and I live here in the mountains of southern Spain and tomorrow we will meet to have fellowship with a dozen or so believers. we sing hymns like these and share the Word together. For many years we were missionaries in Peru and lived for a while in the High Andes where we learned so much from our Quechua brothers and sisters and so enjoyed their music too. Thank you for putting these great hymns on here so many can share. Rob and Chris Rowley.
When Moses said, be still and see the Salvation of the LORD! I never heard his voice in thunder, lightening, fire or fire but a small voice when God hid Elijah in a cave. I thank him for his grace and mercy when he called me. Praise his Name.
