    I am SO GLAD we found you! 🤗 Our motor, Dometic 9100, is shot. We figured out how to manually roll it out. We have the strap attached. How do we get it back in now? 😂 What should be our process if I am going to have to use it this way for a month? For instance, if an unexpected thunderstorm rolls in and I need to get it in quick? 😳 Do I have to keep putting the bolts in and out? 🤦🏼‍♀️ THANK YOU!! ❤

    • @hillbillyrv
      @hillbillyrv  2 роки тому +1

      To roll it back in, you have to physically roll it in. It ain't easy and can be very hazardous since you will most likely be standing on a ladder when you roll it in. Yes, to hold it in, you have to put the bolts back in. Be VERY CAREFUL. VERY EASY to get knocked off of the ladder by the awning.

    Can you spin the motor to line up the two allen head screws that keep the awning from unrolling? I had to roll mine up manually at the campground so when I took those two screws out it released the tension on the spring. Watching your video I didn't see you doing anything with the other end where the spring is? Thanks for the video!

    • @hillbillyrv
      @hillbillyrv  3 роки тому +2

      I had it tied down so it would not retract. I lost a bunch of footage on this job and tried to salvage what I could. I have since gotten a new camera. And yes you can line the holes back up and put the screws back.

      You will have to remove the 2 set screws that attach the motor shaft to the awning head, but be careful that the arms don't extend and knock you off of the ladder. Check this video out ua-cam.com/video/gLlumq4_az8/v-deo.html

    We have this same awning on our RV, while it was extended it stopped working this past weekend while far from home, heard the click at motor when switch activated but it wouldn't move. The click at motor means it's getting power, so not a blown fuse. Without watching your video and not knowing about the wires being twisted when rolling it up manually, I had to do so to get it out of the wind. Now there's not even a click at the motor. Does this mean the wires to motor are likely destroyed?

    • @hillbillyrv

      Very likely. Those wires will only take so much twisting.
