You're not kidding. Yosemite is definitely in my Top 3 of most beautiful places.
If you’re a backpacker, going through the Sierras in the summer should be on everyone’s backpacking bucket list. I hiked The PCT this year from Campo to Wrightwood, CA (360ish miles) at that point I’d seen enough of the desert and skipped up to Bishop,CA. Got new shoes and a bear can and got a trail angel ride up to Kearsarge - the nine mile pass back to the PCT. Did Glen pass north (pct through Yosemite) to Sonora pass/highway 108. About 260 absolutely spectacular miles with magnificent views all through the Sierras. Went through Yosemite mid July. Also saw no bears, only their tracks on the trail. There was a lot more water in July at Glen Aulin than there was for you in Sept. The next slightly more epic place is Glacier National Park!!!
Yosemite never disappoints!
Yes, it doesn't disappoint but, if you go when the number of people you encounter is like going to your local mall, the experience is less than what one dreams of. May Lake is a place to take young children on their first backpacking to. Plenty of things to keep a 10yo. happy all day, I have taken three young children and three teenagers to May Lake. Hiking around a large part of the lake, or a slow ascent to Mt. Hoffman -attempt will occupy a fair amount of time, even if you don't make it very far up a trail.
@@sebastien3351 My favorite time to go is the winter months. Less of a crowd.
"I wonder if you'll have any mold on them... ahhh.. you can just cut that off". That is freakin classic.
My last visit to Vogalsang was a solo ski tour from lee vinning 10 days celebration of my 21st birthday. Base camped at the hut in toulomne. Where I was night cleaner/bear chaser summer of 89 and 90. But we used to climb that peak and play frisbee across the west buttresses. I had a climb partner and we did a few routes on the north and north east faces. There were many says I just ran up to watch sunset.
Thanks for the memory
Oh yeah.. my pack was 126 pounds when I skied up from Leevinning
Nice cozy. I use the bubble wrap envelope that my County sends out with COVID tests inside-free health department cozies are the best thing about 2020..
Dang what a low water year. Though we did just get 3 feet of snow last week. 🙏🏻 4 ❄️
This is a Martha Steward kitchen demo.
I love Yosemite. I’m about 3 hours away.
If there is a next time in this location, try to link in the Sunrise down into Happy Isle section - GREAT scenery. The JMT route has some wide open burn area so the more northerly route over Cloud's Rest may be preferred. Half Dome is on the route but requires a permit. Day tourist traffic picks up significantly around the Mist Trail junction. Depending upon the time of day, (and season) YARTS buses can get you back to Tuolumne Meadows area. Getting over to Glacier Point to look down in to the Valley would be awesome but a bit out of the way.
Agree about CO verses sierra hiking scenery
This edit is super polished. Great job ! Yosemite kicks.....
Wish Andy could have been there too. Hell, wish I could have been there as well. Beautiful loop.
Great vid, fantastic place!
What a trip! Looked amazing, thank you for sharing the AllTrails link, I added it to my Bucket List. -dave
Thanks!
Great video guys it looks stunning there
Being the youngest of 5 boys, I always enjoy watching bros on adventures together. Nice job on the vid guys.
P.S. Bring Restless back for Backcountry BS’ing😀

Glad to see you out on trail again. Hope you are doing great with your choices. Missed seeing your videos. Thanks so much for sharing with us. Va Frosty
Beautiful area Kevin. Looks like a fun hiking trail. Love the camp by the creek. Awesome 👍🏻👍🏻👊🏻
Thrilled to watch, one of my most anticipated episodes, especially after part one. Born in Colo, raised in California. Tuolumne area is such a spectacular view fest. Watching someone else experience it was so satisfying. I wish you could have seen it without the smoke and earlier with a bit more water. The trips I made there in spring around early May, often had the best waterfall sights. Being old has the advantage of memories of the firefall, the embers pushed over Glacier Point, in the 1960’s. The winter is a completely different experience but Yosemite definitely started my love and appreciation of camping and hiking.
Dang, looks pretty light out for lunch at 11:35 PM. 😂
Greetings from Bay Area, Ca. Awesome video! Glad you enjoyed our amazing Yosemite!
What an awesome loop! Great job with the video.
Great video guys. You boys must have some Sasquatch stories. I’ve watched your Dr. Meldrum episode and it it was great. Do you have any other episodes where you guys discuss the forest folks? Any plans to discuss again? All the best.
Time to get a CNOC water bladder!
How about packing up to yosemite falls for one night then to yosemite creek then on to 10 lakes. Grant lake is 1st one then back to yosemite creek. Its tough but awesome, up to 11000 something ft.😊

I'm new to following your adventures....funny thing, I thought your commentary format was similar to David Grays. Watched some more You Tube videos and lo and behold, you all had a nice chat a few years ago. Keep up the good stuff, it helps me plan our trips.
Are you sure those were bear tracks?
Loved the vid thanks
Nothing wrong w/getting to that camp early...
If you stay Aug 11 you get the perseid meteor showers!!
I didn’t see it - but what month was this hike?
Trying to gauge average temps overnight at elevation.
11:35 pm.
more beautiful than the John Mure not sure just did both. Both Iconic but I say the Mure wins that title
Sweet trip! Why is bear spray illegal there?
No idea, for some reason just a Yosemite thing
@@SchillBrothersOutdoorshonestly, having backpacked, car camped, and day hiked regularly for over 40 years in the Sierras, not once have bears been an issue. Black bears here are actually super scared of us humans, and yes, all 5' 1" of me has chased one out of our campsite before (more than once).
Here's some info I found online that best sums it up. "Rangers from Yosemite say there just isn’t a need for the spray. The park doesn’t have grizzlies (the main reason someone would carry bear spray in the first place). Even though about 500 black bears do roam the park, Yosemite has never reported a bear-on-human attack."
I am so glad that you got to enjoy Yosemite! It's been a special place to me and my family since I was a little girl. Your two videos were beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
How about iodine tablets for your water !!
This video is just a fucking commercial of different products!
You know the downside to 4k….nose hair
Paper map nonsense?
bear spray illegal? wtf dumb rule is that? I carry mine every trip.
