Irish Flute at El Puente Elementary School in Jenison, Michigan

On March 25 and 26, I had the opportunity to present guest lessons about Irish flute and whistle music at El Puente Elementary School, in Jenison, Michigan. Ms. Amy DeBoer, their wonderful music teacher, invited me to come work with their sixth-grade music classes as part of a large unit on Irish music that she was doing, conveniently timed around St. Patrick's Day. Yes, we went for close to an hour, and they remained attentive throughout. It was wonderful to be able to get back into teaching this way.
