Nato straps are originally designed to be worn over your (military) jacket. That's also why a simple textile strap wouldn't work. Even if you make it long it's too finicky. And those numerals are *Eastern* Arabic numerals.
Thats not “wack” at all Christian, the DayDate is objectively a sports watch; its got a sturdy bracelet and case, its got a screw down crown with 100m water resistance, and its practical.

In the case of a watch, any additional scratches can make the pictures of the watch not exactly representative of the actual piece. It’s a questionable practice. I enjoy most T&H videos, but I don’t know if I’d buy a watch through them for this reason.
I dont think his 2 weeks worth of use on a leather strap is going to add significant wear. As for scratches, he is probably very cautious with all watches, not just the ones he is selling.
You have a old school style for such a young soul which is actually very cool- in today’s trend based society it’s great to still see people that find their own way- all the best - I’m slowly gaining more interest in vintage pieces - I still am put off by the cost and lack of water resistance bu I’ve seen some very nice watches on your site- keep rocking the Jorts, following your passion and having fun 🍻

i think you are right about the Rolex Day Date beeing a sport watch, it has quite a good depht rating (better then a lot of sport chronographs), yes it will scratch easily but a scratch doesnt directly effects the watches time keeping abilities.:)

IMO, all Oyster-derived Rolexes are _technically_ sport watches in their specs but have become perceived to be dress watches due to their prestige. I considered watches like Rolexes to be a waste of money until I actually learned about their history and that they were designed for practical use to quite a high standard of quality and performance. So, I think they can be worn as either/both but it would be kinda silly to wear a bling'd out $50,000 diamond watch to go scuba diving or something. A gold Day-Date to the beach? Sure. Go for it.
Who in their right mind would ever spend over 1000 on a king seiko... or 1300 on an omega Geneve... I seriously feel so bad for people that buy your watches because they are stuck in a hole when they get them and have no way to get any of that money back. I trade both of those pieces numerous times I’ve never seen them sell for that much nor would I ever expect to get that... I like buying and selling but this is just ridiculous!

I like the black onyx dial on a Daydate. The meteorite and sodalite dials are also very nice

My nato on my sub is $15.
I am a grip in Hollywood and use a NATO strap on my piece because against all the equipment I use it would bang up the bracelet. And it dries quickly.
I have some Zulu straps and they take HOURS to completely dry after a swim.

Why do you wear the watches you’re tying to sell? Do you worry you will add further scratches to them and more wear on the leather straps?

The only special dials today are, MOP and Meteorit maybe the diamond dials, theoretically every stone is different 💎
