Yes he scores alot of goals on the powerplay because he has the best combination of power, accuracy and quickness to routinely beat the best goalies in the world who are EXPECTING him to do exactly that on every powerplay. But he scores way more beautiful goals in other situations. As for the backchecking that would've been a fair criticism early on in his career but as he grew into his captaincy that changed.
