    Really good list. I have had the Stagg 22b, FG Kelvin V, Joseph Magnus batch 178, JD 12 of your list and all are very good. Other ones I liked this year are Peerless rum finished, Woodford Reserve batch proof, and Larceny B523. I also have a Hard Truth distillery only cask strength single barrel sweet mash rye which was good.

    Great bottles. I picked up a Bardstown Origin white label Single Barrel Illinois exclusive 120 Proof that is fantastic. Have not seen Bardstown Discovery 10 at any store and had to pick one up at the Distillery when I visited 3 weeks ago. I picked up my first Old Carter American Whiskey batch 11 and I cannot believe how much I like it. Stagg is awesome. I have 7 bottles now…15, 18, 22B, 2 bottles of 22A and 2 bottles of 23A.

    Cool list, except for the BEP lol I have not gotten along with any MM products that I've ever tried. Gave MM another chance with the BEP,, given everyone fawning over it. Hate it, just like all the other MM products. Buddy is gonna give me a pour of the Cellar Aged, we'll see, but something in the MM profile just does not sit well with me.

  • @cartermayfield

    I had heard that the RR13 b4 and b5 were the same… but my impressions were not the same tasting them side by side on multiple occasions. I opened one of each and people unanimously chose 4 over 5 not even knowing which was which. Hmmmmm…
    JD12 and M10B both blew my mind, but I think it’s a bit of the expectations game. The opposite applies to Mister Sam. That one had been built up as the best whiskey I will ever have and… it was very, very good. But some years of GTS and WLW beat it. Maybe it is unfair to judge it in that category while I’m judging M10B amongst all the M10B’s I’ve had or all the sub-100 proof bourbons I’ve had. I guess I just feel like JD12 and M10B are worth chasing while the juice isn’t worth the squeeze for Mister Sam. At MSRP, I would take it in a heartbeat. I’ve just had an ounce of it and know I won’t see it again.

    So stagg 22B, and 22A are special. If you take GTS22 which I think is a life changing pour, 22B is super close for even at secondary a quarter of the price. 22A is a sweeter funky god tier pour that experienced drinkers would like knowing it’s not a classic bourbon profile but it’s a genius profile.

    • @cartermayfield
      @cartermayfield 10 місяців тому

      Mr. Sam is a Sazerac product. Rumored to be left over BTAC barrels blended in Canada. It may have Canadian whiskey in it. Because it is a blend, it is labeled as a whiskey, not a bourbon.

      The Bardstown Origins are very affordable. Discovery 10 won't go above $225 on secondary. BEP is not anywhere near celler aged. BEP can't hold it's own against FAE 2 or BRT 2.

    • @greasyghost

      I got both of those actually, and that Remus is incredible. It was at Hubbards lane, and Ron put them on the counter so I couldn't tell if there would be another sitting out next time to get a backup. Luckily there was. Could've got a backup of their EC private barrel, but really don't need it.
