OMG! I had a 66 Spritethis color,,and this segment brings me back to when I was 19 - fun car,it needed way more than I could afford to put into it- and it was a second car in snowy Maine!
Probably a 1098 motor. Unless it has been replaced with the later 1275. Sprites did not come with wire wheels. That's an upgrade during the restoration.
I ended up buying this little gem; Robert I checked the engine number and it is a 1275 from a MkIV, but this car doesnt have the more permanent top so I imagine it was also an upgrade in restoration? I’m still trying to track down the gent that restored it for more history
They most certainly did come with wire wheels in Australia although they were a change introduced about midway through the MkIII model run. Prior to that, they had disk wheels as you suggest. We used to refer to the upgrade as a Mk IIIA although that designation was never officially adopted by the distributors. The upgrade also had revised seats - which look very much the same as on this one, and a chrome strip on the side like an MGB. The colour on this one is a non-standard green so it has been repainted which is hardly surprising for a 55 year old car. I actually like this colour more than the original BRG which is very much darker. Nice looking car and it brings back a lot of memories - I had one of these in 1966 which I purchased new.
I was thinking this has to be a 1275 as it doesn't sound like a 1098. The 1275 makes a more muted sound compared to the delightful rasp of the 1098. I have a nearly identical color 62 Sprite with wire wheels off of a Midget.
The colour is not British Racing Green nor is it original. These were never available from the factory in this colour. It's missing the chrome molding on the sides and it's a Mk 3 not a Mk 2 as you suggest. These never had a 1275cc engine, they only came with an 1100cc motor. Having said all that, it's a really nice example of this model, it's just not quite as you state.
Thanks for this beautiful version. It brought back memories of my 66 Sprite. If it would have stopped running on the drive would really be more accurate of my experience. That being said, I enjoyed owning it. So many great laughs. I wasn’t laughing when I owned it. I also believe, if 1275cc, probably from a later Sprite. What did it sell for?
I've got a white one, really solid but going to refresh it over the winter, it was a project my dad never got round to prior to passing. It shall live again
I had a 59 Bug eye back in the late 60s.
It sounded just like it.
Brings back some good memories.

Love that British sputtering exhaust! VROOM VROOOOOM!
Very nice car
Yes, please!
Sounds awesome 👌
I don't suppose you remember what style of exhaust was on it? Sounds awesome
Yes!

A nice car indeed!
Wunderbar.Endlich mal ein ordentliches Mikrofon.Das hat der Motor auch verdient.
Nice!
Curious why the 60’s MGBs are passed by on so many channels
Love

Spridgets keep you out of trouble w/the law. Slam thru the gears & still only going 50mph.
Looks more like a 1966 MG Midget.
Sam.. w.
What exhaust do you have on your car?
My former wife had a white/black '70. Wonderful driver's car.

The auto or your ex-wife, lol🤭
Damn.....sweeeeeeeeet..!
I wonder what it went for....
That’s weird - my Dad had a blue Austin Healey Sprite with the wire wheels you have here
